Trinkette, Mikla and Jen/MM, Thanks for the congratulations  .    Thanx

I haven't decided what color of gold to set these in, and I will definitely be deferring to David's recommendation.  I have the beige skin coloring of a redhead with a strong pink undertone.  The pink gold jewelry that I own just blends right into my skin.  Sad

Yesterday I was  studying the inventory trying to come up with an inexpensive way to try on a ring in David's pink gold....like a curved band sans the diamonds.  I dunno...maybe I could rent a ring??   sign13

Aren't there some pink halo-brown diamond earrings in the Forum Photo Gallery?  Well, I am going to cruise the forum and the website looking for pink and brown combos.

As you know, I like matched sets, earrings, pendant and ring, so this is going to be a major project, and I am so excited.   yahoo

And...Tweety Bird  tweety  comes tomorrow.... 16 hours and counting!
                                                     bliss

Congrats on your earrings.  They will be awesome!!!!!!!
I told someone that pink gold blended into my skin and they thought I was crazy...I am glad I am not the only one...I love it, but it doesn't show up on me as well.    Cry

GG, I've also noticed that some colored stones just fade away, too.

Not being able to wear pink gold is a bummer because it is so-o-o pretty. Sad

However, recall how stunning DJs Brown Asscher looks in white gold.   That contrast is awesome, and white gold actually looks best on me.  If David thinks that my brownies would not look washed out in white gold, then that's how I will set them.   cross

Sparkly-OCD, I have fair skin and I LOVE browns and rose gold.  In fact, one of the reasons that I prefer the pariing of brown diamonds and rose gold is because the gold DOES disappear a bit.. into the stones, that is (and, in my case, it IS the most flattering metal to my coloring).  I'll show you what I mean. This is a little before your time here, but, it is my Glarkler J-color cushion and fancy brown rounds ring in rose gold and platinum. The metals do not distract from their respective diamonds, and I love that about the ring. In person, you don't notice the rpongs at all... and the diamonds are center stage.

Ooops!  I guess I don't pay much attention to the avatars!

Anyway, that ring is hot_stern !

Does rose gold work with yellowish brown stones as well, or does the yellow throw it off?

You know I'm going to ask . . . so may we have the stats and pricing on these fancy yellow flower cut rounds, por favor, as well as the rest of the browns!  I think you mentioned another brown princess and a deep brown round that you were still considering?

Trinkette, thank you for sharing this; I will certainly reconsider using pink gold.

Sparkly-OCD, I'm not trying to convince you one way or another.  To me, it is interesting that you said your skin has a "strong pink undertone" and pink gold "just blends right into" your skin.  To me, that says PERFECT MATCH!  To you, it says LOST IMPACT.  dontknow It's all about perception and personal preference, isn't it?

And, certainly, if it is IMPACT and CONTRAST that you are looking for, then, something like DJ's gorgeous set of browns, with either white gold or platinum, would be dynamite (and she will tell you that her brown EC halo ring is one of my very, very, very, all-time-favorite DBL pieces).

To be frank, I currently like rings where the stones do all the talking, so to speak, and the metal takes more of a back seat.  And I love the rose gold, both with the brown diamonds AND on my skin. But, I also know that happens to be more MY style and more flattering to ME than some of the other design options. If you like the metal to be a more important design feature, and it is most flatttering to your skin tone, then, by all means, go for the contrasting metal!

I can't wait to hear what you decide to do...

On Monday, I'll be sending David a three stone ring that has a center yellow diamond that doesn't show-up at all.  My plan is to pull that center yellow and replace it with a brown matching the earrings and pendant.  That ring is white gold and set with three 1/3ct princess cut diamonds.  In fact, I hope what I want is doable, and it will resemble #R1828 when completed.

Sparkly, I have a rose gold ring with an oval stone and it looks good with my red hair/ pale pink skin tone. They look fine together, if the rose gold is the right colour. David's is a glorious warm pinkish tone. The cheap rose gold band I bought to wear with it was a mistake. It's more coppery and it's tarnishing. DBL pink gold is lovely!

With all of this great advice and the landing of Tweety Bird, my thoughts on the settings are changing.  Currently, it is pink gold bezels with smooth edged, white gold halos with white diamonds.  I just can't fathom an all pink gold ring on my finger.
Yahoo! David, can I rent #R2406?

The whole ring doesn't have to be rose gold.  You can use a rose gold bezel and maybe also pink gold for the halo, and another white metal for the shank.  That's the beauty of DBL, you can get what you want!

Best,
Mikla
