Here's the ring, originally made for a pink diamond.

Now it features an awesome 1.25ct G/SI1 Emerald Cut Diamond.
It's a very good SI1.
With an emerald Cut, you need to look at a an SI1 to see if it's eye clean.
This one is.

I think I can see some pink reflecting into the G color.
Do you?

The central stone definitely takes on a pink glint especially when the ring is turned so you see if slightly at an angle.  I love it actually and it's got me thinking!!!!

Are the accent diamonds pink David?  They look white, set in w/gold but I could be mistaken?  If they are white, do you think the central diamond would look ever more pink if the accents were pink set in rose gold?

Are there some stones in stock with a slight pinkish/brownish hue that might benefit from a similar rose gold setting?

It's amazing what the color of the head can do to bring out different colors in the stone!  Trinkette, I'm thinking of your faint brown oval in rose gold, which I'm sure you have already thought of.  That would be fabulous!!

There's definitely a pink tinge in the centre stone. I'm not sure I like it (the ring, not the stone), but I seem to be a clear minority here  Wink

I join you OMC, I am not sure either,  but I can definitely see the pink appear in the centre stone.
I am sure there is someone out there that will absolutely adore it.

There's a lovely look to this new combo. BUT, does this mean that the exquisitely beautiful, really cool, to-die-for color, FLOP (fancy light orangy pink  Grin ) diamond that USED to take up space in this very same setting is... GONE?  Confused42

Me! Grin  It appeals to me and I wouldn't usually pick a step cut with an rb halo, but this is just such a well made, fine looking ring. I like it. How much does it cost?

Ok so having seen in person the "before" ring with the pink diamond and the "after" with the colorless diamond I have to say it actually looks much better with the colorless stone!

FYI to all, all diamonds on this ring are now colorless.  The melee have always been colorless.  The only pink that remains are the rose gold prongs(and butresses) which actually accent the colorless center in a really unique way!

There are definitely some design aspects about the setting that I don't love but its 100% cuter with the colorless center stone!

If anyone was looking at this ring and thought "well its nice but there's something off about it" I would suggest taking another look now that she has a new center!  The rose gold prongs holding the colorless stone really sets this apart from other rings with similar designs and truly adds to the whole look!

Just wanted to put in My2cents

CityGirl, I agree, I do prefer it with the colorless center.  I don't really know why. Maybe, there were just too many elements with the colored stone.  Now, it is more restrained and elegant... sparkle and architecture.

Ok, help me out here. What am I missing? What are people seeing in the setting that they don't love?

Jen, I don't think you are missing anything. It's a fine ring, but the combination of pink gold with a largish almost colourless EC does not appeal to me. Not all tastes are created equal, and I quite like frosted lemon cupcakes with chives and garlic. Grin

I take Cori's point, but I still would like this setting better with a FLP, a morganite, a pink tourmaline or topaz or even an untreated pink sapphire. Pink stones.

Hi All!

Floppie is still here- safely nestled in a parcel paper.

We're trying to decide how to set her at this very moment!

OMC- what you are saying about how the setting should look nice with a pink stone makes all the sense in the world!

But this is one of those situations where the reality ( for me) does not match what should be "conventional wisdom"

The ring is now a real eye catcher.
When it had floppie in it, it was very nice- but honestly, not nearly as nice- or eye catching- as it is now.
In fact, Floppie was languishing in the setting.
I'll get some fresh shots of her tomorrow- but she really looks happier now that she's free.

BTW, CityGirl- I should have pointed out the tiny pink diamonds which are set in the buttresses...

That's what I call attention to detail. I bet the setter was really happy working on those. Grin

I love this ring and think it`s stunning. Is it for sale or does some lucky person already own it ?
I`d wear her any day !
