HI Everyone,
Here's an unusual stone.

There is life in the stone- although different from tradional colorless yellow pink blue or brown stones

By the way- the cutter presented these to me as an ensemble...
The top stone is fancy deep brown yellow

This cutter has a way with hearts.  Lovely proportions  and articulation on both.   heart2  NOM! icon_cat

What does the gray one look like to you in person, D?

This grey stone has interested me as I've had a masculine version of a claddagh or perhaps fede ring in mind for quite some time. How much would a stone like this cost?
Does it sparkle or is there a veiled or milky quality to it? Oh dear people will analyse why on earth someone would want a grey heart!

Grey diamonds have always fascinated me.  Do you think you'll make a movie of this one?

I like it in the first shot, but not so much in the shot on the white background.  Which is truer to its real color?  I LOVE the brown heart!

Hard to say about which color is more accurate - it changes a lot based on lighting...
Here's a video.

Interesting!  It almost looks colorless in certain light, but in other light you can certainly see the grey.  Do you think the grey would be more apparent after it's set?  The shape is lovely.

If the goal is to keep the grey diamond "reading grey," I'd try pairing it with bright yellow... perhaps a yellow halo, then throw in some high-whites on the outside. Or, perhaps a halo of alternating high-whites and yellows. Grey and yellow are kind of a classic color combo and I think the nearby whites would highlight the combo.  Hummm, if you had the funds to toss around, you could try the same thing with pink – ooooooooooh, pink and grey, trés sophisticated.

I'd be curious to see if it would work. Could be really neat. OTOH, it could be really bad. I mean, really, really bad! However, you never know until you try. Wink

Interesting stone. Fun challenge to think about setting...

Grey is a little weird for me.  I haven't seen enough of them to know how to set one.  I do think the cutter achieved a lovely shape though!

I've always liked grey with high intensity pink or even black....hmmm...black diamond melee halo would look cool.

Hi, T!

I have a wish list as long as my arm; unfortunately an extremely tight budget.  Sad  However, a brown heart for a pendant in a color as my other browns, does interest me.

I am so glad that you are displaying your Glarkler without the cow/steer in your avatar.  It is such a beautiful ring; I really enjoy looking at it.

Hi Sparkly... yes, I too enjoy a long sparkly wish list (luckily people are snapping up the little buggers before I can get to them, SAVING me many months of anguish).

BTW, I like the brown heart that you've asked about.

Thank you for your Glarkler comments. It continues to be my favorite DBL piece... David got it just right, at a time when I had no idea what I wanted and he didn't know me very well. Poor guy, I'm sure he still has dents in his forehead from all the desk-banging his forehead did with regards to this early project...

The featured star in my TEMPORARILY retired avatar is a BULL. His name is Red, and he's right outside here. Another favorite of mine. He's the best. Sorry, but, he WILL be back as my avatar. Just thought I'd give hime a break for awhile (his head hurt from wearing the "crown" around all the time). Besides, he's been busy... got a JOB to do, you know!

I remember Red!  David put earrings on him in another thread. hehehe

Well T, I think this brown heart is a bit too small at 0.69cts. for a pendant; the RB in my ring is 0.73cts.  If the heart is not too dark, this would probably be a neat ring with light yellow sides like R2742, the brown marquise with the yellow pear sides.

I am more interested in seeing the stats than a picture or a video at this point.

 Kiss

Actually, Red was still relatively young when that photo was taken. He's filled out and matured quite a bit since then. Red's a little more "rough around the edges" these days... but, aren't we all!

Sparkly, what about making a haloed pendant from the heart (haloed diamonds to be colors of your choice)?

Awww Trink!  Just as I have managed to control myself the 'enabler gene' kicks-in!

My first thought was a heart dbty in white gold.
Then, per your suggestion, a colorless diamond halo to again, match the existing set in white gold.
But then, I pictured a pink gold and brownish pink diamond halo....oh dear.... Undecided

Uh-oh.  I got R2742 reversed.  It has a yellow pear with brown sides.   duhsign
R3031 has the brown center and the yellow sides.  Embarrassed
