Hi Everyone!
Here's photos of the design before setting......regulars will recognize these....

The center diamond was a remarkable two carater.
Extraordinarily well cut.

The ring itself is sublime.
I love it so much- we're going to make one in yellow for a yellow center.

This one is super bold- with a 4mm shank. What a ring.

Holy crap.
David, they just keep raising the bar in that factory.

I've been learning some metal smithing skills, and while I always admired a finely made piece, I have a whole new level of respect here. These people  can craft a lump of hard and unyielding metal into an object so exquisite I can only call it art. They can make it look soft and tactile. They can match it to the personality of the stones they're setting too. I can't quite put my finger on that effect, but it's amazing.

From what I'm learning, working with precious metal requires a certain mix of skill and training, natural affinity with the materials, highest quality tools and equipment and just a tiny little bit of what I can only call magic. The presence of a small jewellery angel, if you like.

I love this simple design that somehow elevates the materials into much, much more than the sum of the parts. Most of all, I love it because it's a stonking great big solitaire and it looks exceptional! Wink

I will get some IRL shot tomorrow.  These don't show how the stone has been set. It is suspended and looks to be floating and the point of the stone is perfectly positioned to be viewed through each petal.

The shot where there is color is kind of funky because it actually is a very white stone (AGS I and GIA J) for the grade- David must have had an orange Hawiian shirt on that day.  The only time I have seen any warmth was under a jewlers lights.  It was a very pleasant surprise because I was so worried that I would see the tint.  It is also a GIA triple EX/AGS 0- utterly blinding in Home Depot!

Now the secret......  It is an I1 clarity.  The pics make the crystals look.....scary and obvious and not quite as nice a stone as it really is. But that is the truth in pictures, which is exactly what a consumer should get.

IRL, they are very hard to spot and unless someone is looking at less than 6" and knows what to look for, they are not visible.  Even then they look like a reflection so nearly invisible.  Not at all what people see normally with I grades.

It's absolutely beautiful.  I'm a nutty one that likes inclusions you can see blown up like that, but you can't really see IRL.  It gives the stone personality and doesn't detract from the beauty-perfect if you ask me!

I have said it before but I like things like that than can help me identify a stone.  I love that I'd recognize mine anywhere, even unset and reset I could pick it out.  Makes me happy.

Thanks guys!
In the works: this OEC in a smaller shanked yellow top version to be offered as a semi mount.
We'll also offer the 4mm incredibly heavy one as a semi as well
