Holy crap.
David, they just keep raising the bar in that factory.
I've been learning some metal smithing skills, and while I always admired a finely made piece, I have a whole new level of respect here. These people can craft a lump of hard and unyielding metal into an object so exquisite I can only call it art. They can make it look soft and tactile. They can match it to the personality of the stones they're setting too. I can't quite put my finger on that effect, but it's amazing.
From what I'm learning, working with precious metal requires a certain mix of skill and training, natural affinity with the materials, highest quality tools and equipment and just a tiny little bit of what I can only call magic. The presence of a small jewellery angel, if you like.
I love this simple design that somehow elevates the materials into much, much more than the sum of the parts. Most of all, I love it because it's a stonking great big solitaire and it looks exceptional!
