Here's a lovely diamond. GIA graded it D/SI2.
Regarless of how good it is to have a GIA report- which has a plot- you still need to actually look at the diamond to see if it's eye clean.
That's the thing about SI2 diamonds- they represent a great value- because they are so much less than VS stones- yet there's danger for the sharpest eyed among us looking for an eye clean diamond.Many shoppers in that category naturally eliminate SI2 from their list.
That's fine if you don't mind downsizing, or spending more to maintain size.

Anyway, this one is totally eye clean.




Here's a super close up showing the imperfection which caused GIA to call it SI2.
It reflects a little at the edge of the diamond.
Looking at this imperfection, ou can see how innocuous an SI2 can actually be.
Even though it refelcts a bit, it's such a soft white feathery imperfection. So soft that when you step back from ultra close up photography, and actually look at the diamond- you can't see it.
