Very interesting D! It looks more like a blunt marquise than an oval to me (duh, marquise are pointy ovals anyway).  but i guess i mean i've never seen an oval so long and skinny.  it's not bad, but in the photo it sorta looks like it has a long white line through the center, and two dark spots across the middle, like a weird bowtie.  is that how it looks IRL?
Looks to be cut a bit shallow which means if it's a good price i think you'd get a lot of bang for your buck.  I vote yes.
Also I LOVE the Fancy dark orangy brown.

hypnodisk I think that I MIGHT like this one, however, the uber close-up photo is too BIG on my screen for me to judge...  hypnodisk

I usually prefer my ovals on the squatty side, but this one is intriguing.

Me likey!  That's one sparkley long, tall, Sally.  I'll bet she shows to a good honey color if she's set in yellow gold.  Sweet!

I envision this one as a halo pendant hung east/west!

Much better, thank you for the resizing, D!

At a glance, this is "my kind" of stone. Love this type of warm color. Also, to me, the shape is absolutely to die for. I really, really, REALLY adore the profile. Best part about the diamond. I'd think about doing something E-W with it with warm, yellow gold. My only caveat is... am I seeing THROUGH the stone on at least one of the pavilion facets?

Ok so i'm a huge dork, but did anybody see The Time Traveller's Wife?  i read the book and loved it, and her engagement ring in that (which was his mother's, love that idea), was an EW oval semi-bezel, from what i could get of the fleeting screen shots, and i LOVED IT.  and EW pendant is a very cool idea...

I'm not such a fan of the shape (I prefer squat to long) but the color IMO is to die for!!

I haven't seen TTW yet.  I read the book and have the movie on my netflix list for sometime in the future.

Not from the TTW but a nice example of a plain semi-bezel oval E-W setting.

Nice one Rumple, that's pretty much what the ring looked like in the movie, they never really zeroed in on it, but it was a plain EW oval, i'm 90% sure.
the book was awesome, and i think rachel mcadams and eric bana did a great job considering adaptations are always difficult.
