I'm not a fan of the semi-mount, either. I could see the center stone removed, and flank it with the new pair of white asschers, tho.

Pretty things.

I'm a sucker for a step cut and these are glorious! The thing I don't love about the semi-mount is how 'mean' the sidestones look, like something of an afterthought. They are too small for my taste, although I prefer my sidestones to be much bigger than most people would find attractive. Are they step cut half moons? That is something I love, they just need to be a little bit bigger.

Can't help but agree with GEB though - this stone would be amazing flanked by two high white asschers.

I'm not a huge fan of asschers (I guess I'm definitely in the minority) as many times they just look like big pieces of glass to me, but that yellow asscher is GORGEOUS!!!!

I admit I didn't even bother to look at the setting on the yellow one.  I agree that the side stones are way too small and tucked under in a way that wasn't well thought out.  It kind of cheapens the stone.

I would love a step cut some day... but haven't figured out which type or what kind of piece I'd want yet.

I agree that the white side stones are too small and too set under.  Imagine, if you would..pink half-moons.  Would look like a bouquet of roses.  Really SPARKLY roses.

These are gorgeous, but did you see FY, or FbY or FIY asschers in a smaller size?  I'm thinking around 5.3mm on the diagonal, round about 3.7mm x 3.7.  Maybe this cutter has some yellows stuck in a drawer and looking for some sunshine?  pray
