That ring is pretty awesome.  I hope someone gets it that appreciates it.

Great video, D!  She really shines at low light.

I'm getting more and more smitten with this ring every time I open the thread, and I've opened it a few times now.   Smiley

Fantastic movie!
One of the things I admire about this ring is the relative proportion of sidestones to melee stones. There's something very intriguing about the little halos around these substantial sidestones, and when you throw in the different shapes, it just becomes one of these rings where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts by quite a long way.

It's a bold and confident design, while still being delicate. In that context, I'd expect this to be like all our Legendary Rings - people will probably love it or hate it, but few will be indifferent to it.

OMG. I love this ring.

I have to admit...it looks way better on the hand than I expected.  I think when you see it in person, you won't be able to put it down so quickly.  The multi colors and shapes are so intriguing!  I find myself coming back again and again to get another look...I really hope I get to see it when I visit DBL!

Wow, that´s an amazing video! The ring shines in the dark!

At first I thought the ring was gorgeous but a bit too ornate for someone like me to wear. (I´m not exactly Bold and the Beautiful material)...

Now I´m thinking this piece is so original that it could fit just about any look. I WANT IT! (too bad I´d have to sell my car to pay for it!)

I´m just happy to see such beautiful pieces being made. Nowadays where everything is cut from a mold or mass produced, it´s refreshing to see something that exhibits such originality and care.

Bravo DBL! Smiley

I've been thinkin' and lookin' at this thread a lot.  I have really mixed emotions about this ring.  First thought was 'sheesh - sort of gaudy, isn't it?'  The other was that it reminds me of another ring...now where did i see it....

A good friend in Texas, who was my jeweller back when, told me on numerous occasions ' It's only gaudy on someone else's hand.  On your own hand, it becomes a fabulous jewel.'  She made her case with an 8ct solitaire she was wearing.  I didn't like it on her hand (yep, too gaudy), but when she put it on my ring finger, I almost collapsed, it was so, so, well, gorgeous.

Ok, so the gaudy issue can be fixed.  I'll be happy to turn this gaudy thing into a fabulous jewel for you, D.  Just ship it out here, and I'll wear it until I feel it has achieved that status.  Then I'll send it back to you.  Evil

GG, I was looking for the pix of your e-ring and couldn't find them, but I THINK that is the ring tweaking my lethargic brain cells.  Ornate, with incredible flash because of the multiple stones set at different angles, feminine, and totally vintage.  One of those rings (the antique variety), you could 'get away' with wearing everyday because it's your ER or a family heirloom.  That doesn't work for this incredible ring.  It's in yer face modern, so the heirloom excuse doesn't work for her.  It's too beautiful only wear on special occasions!   It would break my heart to only feel right wearing it on special evenings out, or fresh out of the shower getting ready for the day.  She needs to be in the light!

ok, so yeah.  I give up.  I love this ring.  Can I get dibs for trying it on when we descend en masse on DBL in a couple of months, D?  Pretty please??  N1Please2HL1

Ah2 you have a very good point about "gaudy"  If you love it, then it isn't gaudy.  For me too gaudy is when it covers my knuckles Wink  I have short fingers so that happens too often Sad

If you love it (and can afford it) buy it!  Who cares what the rest of the world thinks?

I am pretty sure my mom was not in TX....but that sure sounds like her.... N1i'mconfusedHL

Thank you for the compliments on my ring.  I do love it...
Dear Hubby does not understand that you can look without buying....so I was pointing out a ring in a case and he got very uncomfortable....I said "what's wrong?"  He says very seriously "Can we make it to our first anniversary before you upgrade your ring?"   dontknow

Bless his heart!  He's thinking back to when you wanted to pavee the driveway, but he got away with gravel.  Now he's sweating out the question of has his luck run dry yet, or how soon will it?!?  Just hold his hand and reassure him.  That should do it.  That, or smack him with a 2x4 up the side of his head and speak plainly and in words of only one syllable about how you feel about all sorts of things, including him and your ER.  I've always found my mathemetucian particularly susceptible to this second option.   Grin

For me, gaudy is when it covers the knuckle of three or more fingers, or can be seen from space. Anything less than that is fair game.  Grin

This ring is too elegant ever to be gaudy. It's just heavenly.

I just had the opportunity to view the video.  WOW!  What sparkle.  And, it does look better on the hand.

I should restate that gaudy is beyond just past my knuckles... it's more of me feeling like a little kid trying to play dress up when gems hit my knuckles.  I think I have childish looking hands (yeah sounds odd but true) so I prefer things that make my hands look older Grin

Go figure that one out if you can, because I can't always - I just know it when I see it   4

I'd love to try this one on though.  I almost hope it lasts until Oct! (only almost because I'd love to hear of it going to a good home)

I'm with you Squigs, on finding a new, good home for her.

The purple princess, R2823, was in the top 3 picks for my ER until the double D's found Li'l BLOO.  I was afraid of her, not being able to  see what she actually looked like on my hand.  That, plus I was afraid I wouldn't really like a cushion, even a monster Daussi one.  Silly me.  That extreme blue fluor just rocked my world.  I'd still like to see her in person, but she has a wonderful home now.

While i don't think this ring is for me, I can say that it makes me want a big a$$ yellow round with a pink halo.... Damn that is a big ring.... Bravo... Someone will love it! Kudos for thinking outside the box.
