Darn it that David sure knows how to tempt a woman !
He`s just posted a new ring on the site, this one

and wouldn`t you know it, it would match perfectly with my pendant and earrings. I think I`m going to cry  Cry

Guilty as charged...

I guess blue and white is much less controversial than blue and yellow...

How about this combo?

Yes, love it-- how about all set in bezels (YG for the emeralds, WG for the diamond), which would look awesome-- and protect the emeralds, right?

David I love the blue and white combo and when I had my necklace made it was this type of ring which was supposedly next on the list but then you posted Dorothy and I fell in love and now you`ve posted this and I think I need to send you to the naughty corner for temptations above and beyond the call of duty  Grin
I`m going to be keeping my eye on this one and if it`s still there by the end of May then she`s all mine to complete my set .
PS if anybody else  grabs her then I won`t be at all upset ..... I`ll be GUTTED ... kidding, I`d wish anybody buying her nothing but pleasure in owning her so feel free.

The emeralds look stunning David but then I`d have to buy a new necklace ...
Actually those emeralds with the centre diamond all set in yellow gold would look terrific. Love it !

Wow, emeralds . . . I've always heard that nice emeralds come from Colombia.   Is there a difference in color for the ones from Africa?

These are very very pretty . . . haven't seen any round emeralds before either.

Beautiful!

Thanks Mikla!
Generally speaking, emeralds from Columbia are more clouded.  African emeralds tend to be more crystal like, and clear

That's very interesting.  I obviously don't know a whole lot about them, but our business has a site in Colombia so those were the only stones I had ever heard about.  Any difference in general color?

As far as I know, African emeralds are a very pure green hue, but they tend to be small. Colombian stones come in all shapes and sizes, but stones with a high colour saturation are rare.

Zambian Emeralds are typically a darker green (and as OMC says, a more traditional green hue).  Columbians vary in colour but can look more neon and have a blue/green tone.

The Columbians tend to be more striking and eyecatching if they've got the neon quality.

I've also got a Traipiche Emerald that I love for how unusual it is.
