I just now saw this part of the forum and thought I would do a formal introduction!

I go by Jean and I am a lover of all gems.  I initially found this site while I was looking up yellow loose diamonds and then later on looking at Daussi diamonds.  My husband was planning on doing an anniversary upgrade since my original engagement ring was an amethyst.  I have worn a bunch of other types of rings with my diamond anniversary band but we decided it was time to get me a "grown up ring"

I was looking all over the place for what I wanted when one of our cabinets started to show wear and tear in a way that said "replace me!"

We made the decision to redo our kitchen instead.  For Christmas my DH bought me a beautiful vintage piece that has a .4-.5 transition cut diamond.   It will hold me for now Wink

I am very drawn to soft yellow, green, brown and blue diamonds.  My "soft spot" though is for diamonds in the M and below color.

I love vintage and vintage inspired pieces so most of what I find here I love.

My dream ring would be this one I think

Though I might actually like it with a plain band since I am tough on rings.

We live with our lovely toddler son and 2 cats.  So while he naps during the day I particularly look and dream here Smiley

Croeso!

Since I'm still convinced you're Welsh, I thought I'd officially welcome you in your language.

Nice to have you here, Jean - please keep posting!

HI, Jean!  hello I'm of the same name, but frequently go by Aunt Dammit in polite circles. Grin  Happy to make your acquaintance formally, and have been enjoying 'seeing' you around the forum.  You'll have to post pictures of your jewels - and that includes family members of the young and four legged varieties.  cat

It's good to formally "meet" you!

I agree with Auntie Dammit -  we love photos.  Smiley

It's amazing how fast threads can turn into requests for kitty pictures, lol.

LOL, OMC!  I am supposedly a bit Welsh but not enough to speak or know any of it.  I do some Japanese and Spanish though Smiley

I will try to get some pictures together soon.   I just got a new camera and my pictures are all over the place now.  But I am very proud of all my jewels, whether shiny, fuzzy or two legged Smiley

I might even get the little one to show off some pieces since he loves "shinies" as he calls them  Grin

Thanks for sharing a little about yourself, clgwli.  Funding the kitchen redo and your lovely new-old transition-cut piece just means that now you have MORE time to save, investigate and decide upon your ULTIMATE sparkly upgrade. The longer you wait, the better it will be... I just know it (after all, that is The Universal Law of Jewelry).  Grin

I'm sorry, the Auntie Dammit name just cracks me up...

Hi, Jean!  Welcome to CDI.  I have enjoyed your posts.

Having lived through three house renovations (while living in them, no less!) you have my sympathy dirt, dust and drywall -wise and fund allocation-wise, too.  Yet, as Trink said, in the end, you'll have decided on what you really want along with receiving a new kitchen.  Not a bad deal.
