Hi Everyone!

I'm Debbie, 39, from Lafayette, CO, and have basically had my behind glued to my desk chair for the last several days staring at my computer screen, but..it was worth it!  I looked at literally thousands of e-rings online and dozens in jewelry stores and antique shops, before re-stumbling upon DBL..a seller on e-Bay that I first went gaga for ten years ago!  So, this is the ring my soon-to-be will be ambushing me with sometime in the next few weeks http://rockdiamond.c...d-lovely-color-r3623

I don't know why, but for some reason my brain has nicknamed it "The Ballerina".  I pink puffy heart love it, and can't wait to see it on my peasant-like, un-manicured hand ;-P  Does anyone here have a Daussi halo and non-hand-model fingers that wants to take a picture and show me?  David's wife has very cute, slender fingers!

Well, I guess that's it for now, unless anyone has got some good down-on-one-knee ideas for my sweetie?  If so, feel free to pester James at theconstantengineer@yahoo.com  Evil

Oh yes, and stop being so awesome and nice and interesting in your posts, so that I can peel my behind off of my chair and stop reading, before it becomes the size of Sicily!  I have a wedding dress to wiggle into soon Smiley

OMG!  Hilarious!  Debangel!  How can you sleep at night waiting on that ring?

If your man is an engineer, then trust me, he has analyzed this engagement scenario to death.  That is what makes engineers so charming...and fun to shop with...and fun to cook with...

That was sarcasm you just read.  My grandfather was an engineer and my man is soooo like an engineer.    He drives me insane.  I tell him all the time that is must be exhausted knowing the best way to beat an egg, boil water, add bleach to the laundry, get better gas mileage, wash a dog, hang a painting, work the new camera, run wires to speakers, sharpen a pencil with no pencil sharpener, walk in tennis shoes, clip your fingernails, water a plant, pay bills on line....it truly is a burden he must endure.

Trust me, your man has thought this out.  I am thinking that is why he let you pick the ring!

Welcome Debangel!

You both just cracked me up.  Then again a lot of people in my family are engineers and my husband is in IT (very similar to engineer guys IMO).  Life with them is so much fun Grin

My husband was wise and let me choose the ring too Wink  Engineers can be smart like that LOL

Hi, Debangel:
Welcome to CDI and congrats on the impending engagement.  Your Daussi is beautiful and I can't wait to see more hand shots of it.

Hi Debangel,

I love your ring.  It's been one of my favorites for a long time!  I love the large facets a lot...so much so that I picked up a .76 ct. loose stone of Daussi's and am waiting for it to be mounted in a  bezel setting to stack with my little yellow diamond in same mounting.  I can't wait to see it and I can't wait to see yours on too.  Don't worry, we all don't have slender model type hands!  THANK GOODNESS!  But we all do have a love for jewelry that makes us happy and I"m sure you're going to love that beauty on!  Good luck waiting for it...that's not my forte at all...(in case you're reading this David... waiting    Kiss)

BWAHAHAHAHA  GIAGirl, you are hilariously accurate!  James is retired Navy and a former EOD diver (until his Eustachian tube ruptured), so not only does he know how to do anything with any kind of machines or wiring, he also knows how to blow it up underwater if it frustrates him Wink  Last night while he was on the phone with David, he was industriously polishing all of my copper-bottomed pots, after purchasing the stuff they use on uniform belt buckles at the commissary Wink He also folds my t-shirts into perfectly neat, tiny squares, and since I am a Virgo, that's about equivalent to foreplay  Evil Looks like you guys have got him pegged!

((It bears mentioning that David gave James a discount for being a veteran, to which James immediately responded, "Well then, he's about to get all of my business, forever".))

Thanks all for the awesome welcome Wink

Awww, my hearts melting on all of those accounts.  I've been trying to get DF to polish one copper pot since April.  Did I mention he has a polishing machine and is not doing it by hand? The polishing stuff is great!  I bought mine at an Army-Navy store.  The fact that David gave him a discount, well, that just shows you what kind of a man he is.  Your soon-to-be fiance's service to our country is greatly appreciated.   icon_salut

You have a double dose of engineer and military!  Dang.  Nothing will be left to chance.
I cannot wait to hear how he does it!

Thanks, David!  And thank you for the shot of a band next to the e-ring.  Definitely going to need some diamonds next to it, IMHO =)

Welcome, Debangel. And congratulations on your impending engagement.

I regret I have no great down-on-your-knee ideas; my own proposal was so memorable that we both have forgotten how/when/where. On the other hand, should you wish for any further jewellery suggestions...  Evil

Oh that is so pretty with a wedding band!  I agree though it should have some diamonds on it.

I love this ring and so glad it is going to a great home Smiley

Hi Debangel, and welcome to the madness... I love your ring, and I can't wait to see it on your hand! I agree that it would look very fine with a sparkly wedding band. Evil

I remember it, OMC. It was when you lived in (or were about to move to) Italy and you realised how hard it would be to get paper work done without a marriage cert. I marked it down as one of my all time favourite romantic fool moments... Grin

Then you redeemed yourself with one of the world's most beautiful pink diamond engagement rings, IIRC. Wink

Congratulations, Debangel!  You've picked a beautiful ring!  I hope you and your soon to be DH have many happy, healthy, and fun years together.

On another note, do you think he could teach me to fold t-shirts like that?  It really bugs me when I can't get them all down to the same size in a stack.  Welcome to the (diamond) nut house, BTW.

Thank you! (Do I call you "Bloo", or "Qat"?  LOL)

James just chuckled about your laundry-folding comment and says he recommends you go to Navy Boot Camp!  (Don't worry, I'll get him for that one later!)  I think you should just room with me in NYC sometime and I will show you.  But shhh, don't tell him I know how, because as it stands HE DOES ALL THE LAUNDRY.  Like I said, my mamma didn't raise no fool Wink

I have to pull teeth to get DF to vacuum.  Laundry, forget it!  He's one that doesn't feel the need to sort.

HA! My dad used to joke that my mom called him one day and said "get home as fast as you can there is something weird behind the door."  He said he got home and it was a vacuum cleaner.   OH dad....so funny.
