Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself.  I found this site while looking for an engagement ring setting. 

I am totally new to diamonds as I do not own (wait for it) ANY, at the ripe old age of 37, but I am excited to pick out an engagement ring.  My FTB has gratefully told to me to do the research because he knows less than I do about diamonds. 

So, after hitting the mall jewelry stores, we both like a princess cut with baguette side stones, in white gold.  I really love the settings on the DBL site and I like how the stones are set low to the finger.

The information on this site is so valuable, especially to someone like me.  I have a feeling that while this may be my first diamond, it won't be my last!

Hello and welcome.   Have you already purchased a diamond?   It is never too late to purchase your first diamond.............and believe me when I say, 37 is NOT old!!!    So glad your here and honestly,  before you do any purchasing from a Mall jeweler, do your research...........it will pay off in the long run.   Also,  talk to David.....................he can steer you into the right direction to find that perfect diamond and setting!!   ~~Ronda

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!     It's VERY exciting to start looking for the ring, and to be marrying the man of my dreams! 

We were actually at the mall today.  I wanted to try on different settings, and I keep going back to the princess cut with horizontal baguettes.  I seems to suit my hand the best.  I'll defintely check out Snoopers ring.  I also love asschers, but didn't see any. 

I won't buy anything at the mall, I have been totally turned off by the hard sell and the ambiguous diamond grades. 

I'll post about what I'm looking for in the appropriate thread and I welcome any suggestions/ opinions!
