Hi!

I finally decided to join you folks as I am about to start a project with David. At least that is the hope! I am feeling pretty crappy right now since I am sick with a cold so I hope it is nothing more than just that.

My favorite colored diamond is .... blue! Smiley

Hi Lyta. Welcome to CDI! Blue is my favorite too... although, I doubt I'll ever be so lucky as to ever own one!

Sooooooo, what sort of project do you have in mind? Have you and David ironed out the details yet?

Why don't moms get to stay home sick? Well, ok I do but I want a substitute mom to clean my house and take care of the kids for me! Gosh, the house is a MESS! I just want to sleep and try to get over this darn cold! It's a good thing my daughter is cute but she is also feeling sick too so it just makes her cranky and hard to deal with. It doesn't help that she adores going out so she desperately wants out of the house! Poor thing! Too bad because I don't feel like getting up off the couch.

Anyway, I am feeling too miserable to call David either to talk about my project. It involves a cushion ruby but I am waiting to receive it before finalizing anything yet.

I have loved blue diamonds for a very long time and thought they would always be out of my price range. I am happy with mine now:

Still, I love admiring all the ones I can find. Smiley

Ok, I just fell in love with this little gem. Purple is another soft spot for me but I would have no idea what to do with it!

Hi Lyta, welcome!

Hope you get better soon - I've had the whole family with cold/flu over the last ten days, and I'm still wondering why I so far I have survived unscathed. But none of theirs lasted more than four days.

If you don't know what to do with the purple pink, feel free to send it this way...  Grin

Send it your way OMC? Well, heck we only just met! It's a decent price too for that little gem but I will have to wait until spring to get it. I have already spent my Christmas money on my upcoming project with David! LOL!

Mikla, thanks! I am quite fond of her too! Smiley

Wow, it's so beautiful!  Really eye-catching.  May I ask what the specs of the diamond are?

Welcome Lyta. I, too, love the purple pink diamonds. And  a ruby! That will be gorgeous. What a great holiday gift. Thanks for joining us and sharing your photos. You probably know we love photos.

I have loads of photos. It's just a matter of finding stuff. Wink

So the center is a 0.53ct SI1 Fancy Vivid Blue Takara and it set in a 0.27ct micropave halo setting in 18k white gold. The band is 0.57tcw eternity in platinum. Did I miss anything? Smiley

If I'm not mistaken, it's a lab created diamond.
I know we'd all love to hear more about it. It is a lovely ring.

In general, here on CDi the discussion revolves around natural stones....we don't yet have a section for lab created diamonds or gems.

Hi David! I wasn't sure if lab created stones were a taboo subject around here or not. I hope not at least! I love, love, love the natural colored diamonds but sheesh not the price tag on them! I am really, really happy with my stone and it took a long time to find her. What other questions about her do you have?

I have also toyed with getting a matching band made for the ring but again haven't done so because of the expense of going custom and trusting someone to make it for me. I am SUPER picky about having it match EXACTLY. I had bought a band from the company who made the halo but it was after they changed from making the rings by hand to a CAD. It was close but just wasn't the same. I will attach the photos...

Oh and my son just told me he wants some jewelry too. He's 5 btw. He saw the yellow diamonds and said that is what he wants because yellow is his favorite color. I told him he will have to wait until he is older! Then he told me, "Oh I want you to get it but make sure it is yellow!". What a sweetie huh? LOL! Too bad I don't like yellow diamonds so much.  Undecided

He even amazed me the last time I went into our local jeweler and was spending time looking at all the jewelry while I was doing business. He wanted to stay and pick out something, "Beautiful for you Mommy." Awww, I just about cried right there in the store. I told him that time that he needs to talk to Daddy first. Wink

If your son was only 30 years older!!!!  He will be a fine man one day!!!!   I love your engagement ring!

Tell your hubby that your son wants you to have that new fancy yellow pear that David just posted!

Oh you know I am going to raise him right! LOL! My little boy is not the most affectionate nor does much PDA but sometimes something really sweet pops out of his mouth!

So, I thought I might share something that I think would be appreciated here. I am wearing them now which is why it made me think of them. And I know how you sparklie lovers love those photos. Smiley The are 5mm or 1.04ctw natural unheated sapphires in a halo earring setting. I don't remember all the details for these .... only that they are gorgeous!  Grin

Hello Lyta, nice to have you here.

Thanks for the pics, I love your wedding set. It looks fantastic on your hand.

What are you thinking of doing with your cushion ruby?  A new project is always exciting, hope you're feeling better soon so you can get on with the fun stuff!

Hi Lyta and welcome. Are you getting one of Davids Burmese Rubies?
