I'm sooooo excited to find DBL and this forum. I love pink, always have, and I don't know how I've missed pink diamonds!!!  Heck, I even have a custom pink Smart car with pink suede and black leather seats for my play-around-town car. But now that I've discovered DBL and pink diamonds I know I have to have one .....or more. Unfortunately they are so expensive. I wish I had discovered this site sooner- I would have scooped up that .76 pink heart in a second! So, should I wait for more affordable light pinks to come available? Or get a diamond with a pink gold and pink diamond halo? I was originally thinking to get a colorless diamond with the pink halo and replace my ER for our 10th anniversary, but maybe I'll keep my ER and go for a RHR and go with a soft yellow and pink lemonade type or a vanilla colored diamond with the pink halo, or wait for a smaller pink diamond and double halo it with pink, and then white. Oh my, decisions, decisions, decisions...... HELP!!!!!!

Hi jpup and welcome to CDI!  Smiley

I know what you mean...it's so hard to pick one gorgeous ring from another!  I would also love to get a ring with a pink halo, to surround a light yellow anywhere from a O-P or a S-T is what I've been looking at.  I've just started liking the K- L-M colored diamond (vanilla is a nice way to see that grouping!) and love how they look in the pink halo as well.  I think you need two RHR's...one with a pink solitaire surrounded by white diamonds and a light yellow diamond surrounded by pink diamonds... Evil

I know I do!  Grin

jpup, Check out this diamond,  R3344 it's a very affordable pinkish diamond.  If you set in rose gold with pink or white diamonds next to it...it would look fantastic!!!   I have way to many diamonds on my wish list at the moment to enjoy it myself.   Cry

(the site was overloaded, so I couldn't attach a picture...you can do the search at DBL for the picture though. )

Hi jpup,
Welcome to CDi!

I posted the photo above, great choice LC Wave
That is a pinky cushion.
We'll be making a ring for this puppy soon.....

jpup- did you see R3744

It's weird- we have had rings that cost $30K plus that were only slightly pinker.
The ring should cost at least $20k based on the look.

Congrats on the 10th anniversary!
Can you post photos of your smart car?- we love them......

thanks- yes, I did look at that diamond, but I really want more the light true pink like the heart that sold. I would think about the new little pear shape as it is more the color I want and putting it in a double halo (although I see the loose stone has been changed to a ring this weekend), but pear shapes don't look good on me.

Hi David- thanks for the welcome. Although I think that cushion stone is browner than what I want- how are you thinking of setting her? I'd really like a light, more pure pink like the heart or the new pear- although I know the stone would be much smaller. Wish I could see the cushion in person to see the color better.
r3344 is pretty, but definitely more yellow, brown than what I'd like. I also really like the hal 1 setting so am leaning that way.
Let me see if I can attach a pic of my Smart car. I tried to upload an avatar and couldn't do it from my computer-so hopefully I can add photos here. Her name is "Rosie". The lighter color is more the true color, but the other photo shows the fun seats a little. OK- it's telling me my files are too large- I'll shrink them and post later.

Hi Jpup!  Welcome!!  I love your description of "vanilla" stones- I just got my ER from DBL a few days ago, an L-color Henri Daussi halo (oh!  R3623), and the color it is most of the time definitely reminds me of a "French vanilla".  I'm basically ruined for life now on tinted and colored diamonds.

So are you now, by the way!  Count yourself lucky that your favorite color is pink, and not "Heart of the Ocean" blue a la Titanic Wink

Looking forward to seeing your cute pink Smartcar!

Well, I shrunk the picture to a tiny size, but it says the picture upload file is full, so I still can't post a photo. Thoughts?

thank you for the welcome.  Your ring is beautiful! It's funny, but the warm tones seem to have more personality than the icy whites the more I look at them.  You're right- I'm ruined now (LOL)

Hello and welcome! Mmmm. Pink diamond. Lovely - what a wonderful anniversary gift!

You can upload to photobucket, then post the image code in the thread - we should be able to see your pics that way.

I love all this talk about vanilla and french vanilla!  So true for diamonds in that range of color.  I love them myself.

I can't wait to see the pink smart car though.  I bet that has to be as cute as can be!

I don't use photobucket or any of those accounts. So, is there no way to upload directly from my computer?

Welcome Jpup!

glad to hear iīm not the only one overwhelmed with choices. I joined CDI about a month or two ago thinking I knew what I wanted only to realize that I had to learn a lot about diamonds. My passion is yellow :-)
I think pinks are beautiful too!
Although thank goodness iīm not obsessed with them because theyīd make my habit so much more expensive to maintain!

Sorry canīt help with your pic posting problem, havenīt managed it myself yet!
