Well, it seems I'm a few days behind the curve, but I found this place!  Yay!

I'm RedRaider (originally from Texas), but my husband is in the Army; so, we must go where they send him.  Currently, that's in Fort Knox -- just southwest of Louisville, KY.  We're high school sweethearts.  Awe!  We have no children, but we do have two dogs -- a Lhasa Apso and a Sheltie.

I'm currently teaching high school English; however, I will graduate with my Masters of Library Science in August.  So, what am I going to get for a graduation present? Grin  Hmmmm...  And, then, we've got our 10th wedding anniversary coming up in December, so I see lots of jewelry (or at least expensive jewelry) coming my way soon!

We're awaiting orders for our next duty station any day now.  It's either going to be Fort Bragg, NC, or Hawaii.  Everyone jumps on the Hawaii bandwagon, but it won't be as sweet of an assignment as everyone thinks.  As soon as we get there, DH will deploy to Iraq, again.  So, I'd be stuck in paradise all by myself.  No fun!

Anyway, it's so nice to see all the members of the "fam" here.

Hey and welcome familiar face:) WOW exciting that you'll be earning your Masters this year!!! I think that calls for celebration, aka sparkly???

I'm with the band and would love to be station in Hawaii, but I can understand your reservations.  Sorry that you'll be briefly separated from your hubby when he deploys:( We'll keep you occupied so the time flies:)

Hey RedRaider!! Sure is a small world! I've been in Louisville for 5 1/2 years now, DH is from here. Of all the places I've lived, I have liked it here the best. People are really friendly and we're pretty close to my family as well.

Hi RedRaider!  Is that your Vera Wang garnet ring in your avatar?  Niiiice!

My hubby just retired from the army a few months ago and I can say with conviction I would rather be in Hawaii alone than Ft Bragg and together - no offense Flash!  It's a tough choice I know and I wish you good luck with your new posting and move, regardless of where it may be.  I'm sure you will make the best of whatever situation the Army gives you!

And yes, lots of new sparklies are definitely on the horizon!   Grin

Yep!  That's my Vera Wang in the avatar.  I LOVE that ring.  It really gets noticed whenever I wear it.  It's just so darn delicate, though.  I'm always afraid that I'm going to bang it against something.  Besides, VW isn't doing jewelry anymore, so I want to keep it in tip-top shape in case it increases in value.   Cheesy

Any idea why Mrs. Wang isn't designing jewelry anymore?
