Thanks everyone - you're too kind!!  I am enjoying my new ring.

DJ - It guess it sort of looks like a Cartier style ring, but a bad imitation.
The ring looks okay from the top view,  but it's just not made very well.  The millegrain looks like it was done with a machine instead of by hand and the basket is too chunky with metal.  You guys know - you really get spoiled by handmade custom jewelry and it's hard to go back.  Even though I don't have my first piece from David yet, I can tell by the pictures that his artisans are meticulous.

Snooper - I am seriously thinking of baguettes - short, fat ones.  I scanned what I was doodling on tonight and once I get home, I'll  resize it and then upload it and you guys can tell me what you think.

ok, here goes - and if you hate it or do something entirely different, just say so.  My feelings won't get hurt and I haven't decided on anything yet.  I'll probably change my mind tomorrow!  This is just a gallery view - from the top the baguettes would just be perpendicular to the diamond, but since this diamond is tall, the baguettes would point down more.

I don't know how big this drawing will come out - I had to resize it in Adobe to upload it.  Here goes...

I think a tiny diamond flower would be to die for!! But I was thinking maybe for the flower and/or pave, put engraving instead? I always think of an asscher being very Art Deco you know???

I think that would be very pretty Michi.  Snooper is right about Asschers having that art deco feel amd engraving would be stunning with it.

Thanks for the feedback Snooper and DJ!  My original ER is completely hand-engraved, so I was trying for a completely different look with this one.  I'll doodle some more and see what I come up with.

Thanks Michi!

I love your ring and your sketch. There is actually a ring that many of us LOVE here from Leon Mege with an asscher center and shield sides. Maybe you can incorporate your other ideas to it. Love the flower! Nice touch.

Hi Tea!

I LOVE that ring.  Thanks for posting it.  The shields just might be a better choice than the baguettes!  I have a beautiful platinum micropave ring that I want to wear as my band, so that's why I was trying to go w/ a rolled band like in my drawing.  I may end up having to give that idea up, not too sure right now.   Back to doodling!

Girl, you don't miss a beat, do you?!!!!  Grin

I'll try to photograph it this weekend and post it.  You'll see how this doesn't work with a more squared off band like the picture Tea was kind enough to post.  This brings me to something I've been meaning to ask you guys.  Since I'm new to this board, I don't know all of the etiquette you practice here.  David is kind enough to sponsor this board and I am very sensitive about posting jewelry I've had made by others and I even hesitated about posting my asscher.   I do not wish in any way to be disrespectful to him since this is his board.  Your thoughts?

Hey Michi -

Please, post away!  We're very happy to have you here, and we would love to see your collection.

There really isn't an official policy at this point, but if there becomes one, we'll be sure to let folks know.

I sure am glad we got to see that beautiful asscher of yours!

Hi Snooper!  Here's my micropave band.  I also posted it in the show off your jewels section.

Hi Michi!

I'm late chiming in, but welcome and I am following the resetting of that unbelievably spectacular asscher!!  I am an asscher addict.  Totally.

I'm so glad you found us!  I would have hated to miss this project.  And then the asscher earrings...I REALLY want to see those too!

Hi Bunny!

I saw your asscher on another thread and it's just stunning!!!  I've gone back to look at it several times.

I spoke with David and he said they are about to set the pave!  So I'm going to get them soon!!! So exciting!! I'll post pics on the other page when I get them.
