Hello Everyone!

I stumbled onto the DBL website and after another search I found this site. Gosh, does this Guy do beautiful work or what?

I am recently engaged and my fiancé has asked for my help in finding the perfect ring (smart man). I believe that I am in the right place because DBL seems to have an enormous fan base. I found searching for an ER at  local jewelry stores to be absolutely exhausting!

I live in MI and the fiancée have (2) two legged children and (2) four legged children.

I look forward to becoming better acquainted with all of you.

Nikki

Welcome Nikki  Smiley

We're very happy to have you here, and we absolutely love watching people go through the ring picking process!  I also got to help pick out my engagement ring, and I'm gosh darn glad I did.  Men have the best of intentions, but it's sometimes hard to find the right thing for us diamond addicts.  Wink

There's a "Pets" thread in the Chit Chat section if you care to share your furbabies.

Welcome again,

Annie

Thank you all for the kind and welcoming words!

This has got to be the coolest support group EVER!

I started my search knowing that I wanted at least 2Ct's, SI1 or better and between G-I color. That part was easy, everyone wanted our money but I couldn't find a mounting that I liked. I just cant wear a solitaire. They make my fingers look fat!  Embarrassed

I finally found a setting that I loved by Peter Storm. The story is....you pick the diamond and the jeweler sends it to him and he custom builds the ring around it. Well the jeweler was running quite a clever scheme on us and I knew better. The unfortunate part is that their are only 2 Peter Storm dealers in my area and both of them are trying to charge us between $29,000 and $33,000 for the diamond! Yes....thats $30,000 for a 2CT SI1 with H color Huh?

This is not the best picture of the ring but it gives you an idea of what I was shooting for.

I think I would be much better off picking one of those BIG yz radiants and having DBL give it a shot with the mounting..... Grin

You'vegot the right idea. And I think we adore you already.

It is best  to sort of leave the door open for most ring projects. A long time ago I dictated a ring project and as a result, it turned out badly. I did not know anything about ring settings at the time. What inspired me to think I did I'll never know. But it's like deciding you'll fix your car when you don't know about engines.

Anyway, my point is that you do make most of the choices but leave some room for the people to do what they do best. David always has a flair to add and even David doesn't handhold the bench folks. He lets them add their expertise as well. That is the best way to end up with the best ring.

A Y-Z Yellow is scrumptious and a great choice for a wedding ring. Annie1 has a yellow cushion cut for her engagement ring.

We so glad you decided to join us.

I love that setting, and there are lots of gorgeous Y-Z's on here now.  You could save me from myself and get one (or two)!  Also, there is a 1.71 L RB that I am dying over, with a movie showing how stunning it is.  It would look great in that setting or one similar.  Please help me!!!!

Nikki! Welcome and congrats on the engagement!!! $30,000+ for a 2 carat H Si1 seems insanely expensive...

Feel free to ask questions and good to have you on baord!

Sure am glad to meet another diamond addict!  YOu will fit right in just wonderfully here!  I love the setting too...but I sure bet David could set you up with something equally as gorgeous if not Better and save you a few "smackeroos" to boot!   Most of us on this forum can't rave enough about David and his merchandise.  We all have a piece (or two or three, or..) of his jewelry.    So are you considering a colored diamond (Y-Z radiant) as an ering I take it?    Again, you have found the right place!!! Grin
I would consider DBL the COLORED Diamond capital of the World!  :happy11: ~Ronda

Hi there Diamond Scout!  I am the proud owner of one of David's Y-Z cushions and it is stunning!!!  I don't think that you can go wrong with one of his Y-Z stones!  And, I am sure that he can work with you to build the ring that you are looking for.

Congratulations on the engagement  Smiley
