Hello all, I am new to this forum and freakin love diamonds!!!    I'm in the market (not immediately, but soonish) for a new engagement ring.  My original, purchased when I was in med school was CZ, and though a beautiful setting, is REALLY starting to show its age (lots of scratches on the table, etc), and now that I've been a practicing physician for a few years, I'm ready for a new one!!!!  I'm sure I'll pester you all later seeking many opinions about whether to just recreate the original in diamonds (heart shaped center with princess cut channel set side stones) or create something new.  I do have to say, from looking at the DBL website, I'm a giant fan of one of those hearts, and their princess cut channel set setting looks a darn lot like my original one!!  But, I'm sure I'll get into all that later in GREAT detail!!!

Hi and welcome Anne!  Wave Great that you joined CDI and even better that you found David in time for your new ER!!
It sounds WONDERFUL! FoxyandSexy (Amy) is our resident heart expert. She has 2 heart shaped diamond rings from DBL (a whitish one and a purple one). She just recently bought a yellow heart that she will set as a pinky ring with channel baguettes.
Your ring idea sounds lovely. David certainly knows how to pick diamonds. Just ask away if you have any questions and look forward to your participation. CDI is a very lively and friendly place. Enjoy!

Hey thanks guys!!  Thanks Snooper; after having worked my tail off for so long in school and for the past 4 years in private practive building my practice, I've come to the conclusion that I'm in need of a gorgeous rock!!  I've been perusing around a little and am glad I did.  I wouldn't have considered I1-I2 stones before, but David sure has some beauties in that parcel of 29 posted in a thread!!  I can tell I'm gonna learn a lot here!!  I LOVE the wonderful pictures!!

Thanks all, for being so welcoming!!  I really appreciate it!!  Amy, I love all your hearts!!  I actually wish I could say I had something to do with my ER choice being a heart, but I can't.  My DH (then DF) did it all by himself.  We were poor as church mice at the time, so it's CZ, but it really is a beautiful ring concept.  We'll see what I figure out when the time comes, though.  We'll see...... Thanks all!!  The problem seems to be, that just as I had a hard time picking a dog, b/c I love them all, I seem to love all different types/colors/shapes of diamonds!!  This could get interesting......

I wasn't sure where to add this, so I just decided to put it here.  I'm still not yet sure how this is going to affect my future ring purchase, making it either sooner or later, but DH and I are expecting our second child in December!!

Thanks everybody, that's so sweet!!  We're SOOOO excited, as it was over a year in the making  Wink   I'm still in the feeling NASTY stage, but hopefully it will only last 2 more weeks or so, that's when I felt better with Catherine, and as long as I'm feeling bad, I know everything must be okay!  We're due Dec 20, but my c-section won't be later than the 14th, I'm told.

I'm trying to distract myself from the nausea by thinking about what sort of baby jewelry I want, as I have recently discovered that most of my friends got baby jewelry presents after each child they had.   One of my girlfriends just picked out this beautiful pave set eternity band with 3 rows of diamonds, and a row of sapphires on either side of the rows of diamonds.  She got it at that fancy jewelry store in Omaha, Borshe***.  She did get to try on a natural green diamond ring they had for $100 K + for fun, which obviously, she didn't get.    I can't decide if I want a tanzanite ring, as it is the new "birth stone", or if I want to try and get my ER reconfigured, as I've mentioned previously.    Oh, decisions, decisions!!   I'm sure you all will somehow force yourselves to help me decide!!
