Hello from the UK
I found the DBL site purely by accident and it was as if I`d been dropped into a candystore. Nothing in UK jewellers compare with them for colour, style and originality. I was awestruck !
The bit I found most exciting was the member forum where people posted pics and swapped tales of excitement about their new DBL creations.
Sadly I was widowed not too long ago and nothing on earth could ever replace my wonderful hubby but I turned 50 just a few months after he died and my first engagement ring was bought by him when I was just 17 and the diamonds in it were just chips, was all we could afford at the time and he`d always promised to buy me another one for a milestone birthday.
Anyway I`m still going to buy my own creation but what what what do I choose from so many Huh???
You guys in the forum have some beautiful rings and I love to browse it and see your precious jewels and read the tales behind them.
I need your help guys and hope you don`t mind me dropping in from the good old Uk. Plus I might not manage to find my way back to this posting so if I get lost then someone will have to draw me a map how to get back to DBL forum !

Hi Awestruck!  Lovely to have you on board!  We have a few members from the UK - myself included so you are in excellent company!

So sorry to hear of your husband's passing.  I hope you can find the perfect piece to remember your dream of an upgrade.  I'm sure you can and, like you say, it will be hard to make a choice!  Believe me, everyone will be more than happy to help you whittle it down - let us know you preferences so far and we'll see what recommendations we can come up with for you.

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to move your post over to the 'introduce yourself' section - it will stand out more over there.

Hi and welcome to this fabulous site, Awestruck!  Now you've found it you'll never want to leave.   Cheesy  I'm also in the UK, in Sutton on the Surrey/London border.  Where are you, if you don't mind me asking?

>Sadly I was widowed not too long ago and nothing on earth could ever replace my wonderful hubby but I turned 50 just a few months after he died and my first engagement ring was bought by him when I was just 17 and the diamonds in it were just chips, was all we could afford at the time>

I'm so sorry about your husband.  Although my hubby is still with me, your story is almost identical to mine, except that I was (just) 18 when we got engaged.

I found DBL's eBay site about two years ago when I was looking for a heart shaped diamond ring (which I still don't have!) and was blown away by their fabulous rings.  I've promised myself that *one* day I will own one of David's gorgeous creations!

Well i found my way back but only just .... how do i talk to you guys, am I doing it right Huh?
Knowing my luck this posting will end up in the section talking about garbage disposal or recycling !
I`ve just been browsing the site and have seen a lovely ring with a yellow radiant cut in the centre and white radiant cuts on each side of it.
Does anybody have a radiant cut ? I`ve never seen one in the flesh, I know I know, I`ve never lived have I ... such a sheltered life from carats !

Quite a few of us own yellow radiants - I'm on my second since I trade up (I've attached a pic).  I have yet to see a diamond cut like anything I have had from David.  I can tell you that if you like the pic on the site, the ring in the flesh will blow you away - pics just can't truly hit home how stunning the pieces are.

Oh, and yes, you are doing everything right!  So glad you found your way back here!

Just make sure that when you post and you want to see the responses to a particular thread just click the notify button at the bottom of the page. You'll only have to do it once a thread! Then each time a new response comes in a e-mail will go to your mail box with a link right back to the thread you are watching.

Here's a pic of my yellow radiant (There are others on this forum, come out!) Yes, pictures NEVER really show you how awesome a diamond is.  It's so hard to take pictures of them!
