I've been lurking here for a while! Finally came out of hiding to say hello Smiley Dont have anything from DBL but soon maybe..... Evil

I'm a huge jewelry nut, my collection is somewhat small if anything Smiley (mostly random things i've collected from ex boyfriends and family members, nothing crazy really) I was actually thinking about going to school for jewelry design or something at one point but alas i got side tracked!

Anyway i just wanted to post and say hello to everyone Smiley

Feel free to post pictures of your jewelry collection but you are not obligated Smiley

Welcome Blueskeye
Always nice to see a new face and let your artistic thoughts run riot. Often people buy a new stone and the rest of us chip in with thoughts and ideas on how to set it. Even David is brave enough to ask for our opinions from time to time lol. Have fun !

Hello Blueskeye!  Wave hello I am glad you came out of lurking! It sounds like you have the same feelings we all do about jewelry! What kind of jewelry are you going to design? Do you have any sketches? Can we use you as an expert when we are trying to design our perfect piece? hehe  Grin

hehe, I've worked for a very long time with beading and what not. Mostly since i was around 16. I actually haven't had t he time lately to do any jewelry making unfortunately :/ Its sadly become more of a hobby then anything else for the time being. (i've moved a few times over the years and all my stuff seems to disappear in the shuffle) Mostly due to an exboy friend  Roll Eyes

So for the time being most of that stuff has been put on the back burner! (thinking about school for culinary arts or something for the time being. I'm actually a licensed esthetician atm )

I have a penchant for square shapes, mostly asschers....and radiants. Not sure why but they normally catch my eye Smiley

ok so maybe i'm a little bit more picky then i should  be when it comes to jewelry, just ask my boyfriend lol

I love asschers and radiants and cushions! But asschers usually catch my eye first! Is there a DBL piece that you love? Wait.........if money were no object which DBL piece would you pick?

Hmm, if money were no object?! uh oh....

Honestly i dont know if my eyes are bigger then my stomach so to speak Smiley

The blue diamond cushion that sold a while ago was one of my favorites ( set in the princess di sort of setting) Something so pretty about the icy blue! Pretty sure i'd feel like a princess wearing it  Cheesy

I've been leaning more towards the pink halos lately, i dont know why but they're so girly and pretty.

But truth be told if money was no object i'd probably buy my grandmothers engagement ring and have it reset.

Her philosophy? " I'm a big girl, i need big diamonds", he engagement ring was purchased for around 30k back in...well... a long time ago Smiley From what i recall its  a RB D color, IF clarity. Although i think if you count the chunks of meatloaf that are stuck in it its probably closer to an I Tongue

Not going to lie though, i've been oogling that pretty pink princess cut for a while  love10 love10

Seriously,
I have never understood how the Grannies can go so long with meatloaf under their rings and they all say the same thing..."It is filthy!"

She would say " eat more" instead of its filthy. I swear 5 seconds after you entered her house she was listing off what kinds of things she had in stored up in the fridge!

Sounds like my grandmother - always either preparing food or trying to force-feed me! But she did clean her rings, too. I remember in particular one nice-sized ruby. Wonder where it went....
