Hi there!  I'm new here-new to posting anyway.  I've been stalking the forum for around 2 years now?  I've drooled over so many of your pieces, enjoyed the banter and been warmed by what a great community you have here.  So I'm coming up for air and tentatively putting myself out there!

I'm lucky enough to have something in the works now and would love to be able to share when it's completed with people who will understand and appreciate the unbelievable craftsmanship that comes from DBL.  I've been married to my favorite person in the world for just about a decade now and through  pretty wonderful circumstances and the help of some great people we've been able to make something special work out.

I've always been a fairly...different person.  Black sheep and alla that.  I'm not someone that would ever wear a plain solitaire.   I appreciate them, but they'd look funny on me!  I love how the rings here are classic, but with a twist.  I love the colored stones.  I love the fancy shapes.  I love love love how everything is put together with such an incredible eye.  I never met the guy but you can tell that David is someone that LOVES his work and it's a fact that is clearly echoed in his designs.

So, thanks for all the contributions to the board.  I bet I'm not the only one that has learned a bundle from you.  I look forward to learning more!  I'm gonna go submerge myself once again.

Welcome Firegypsy!  Glad to see you here and I would love to see your collection as well as what you have in the works.

I admit I love it here because a lot of people go outside of "normal" (what is that anyway?) and create some fantastic unique pieces Smiley

thank you all!  I wish I had an extensive collection to share!  What's in the works is a pear halo that I'm madly in love with-I hope to have pictures up soon!  It's 18k pink gold with white diamonds.  The only real "color" on this one is from the metal!  I just picked the diamond so it will still be a bit but I'm excited beyond the telling of it.

I'd like to do something similiar one day...I'd love to have an ivory colored diamond, somewhere around a K- L-M in color and surround it in pink gold...maybe in a pink diamond halo...one fine day.   drunken_smilie

firegypsy, please, don't forget to post hand shots of your ring when it comes in!  We'll be waiting with you...  coffee2   Whistle

thank you!  It is just that, my friend!  I snagged an L colored diamond to go into the pink gold setting.  I'm bubbly with excitement.   ura1

thank you so much!  I think that the two pieces I have and one that is coming soon *may* look a bit familiar.  I was lucky enough to meet a wonderful woman with an even more wonderful collection whom I call my guardian jewelry angel.  Or sparklie godmother.  lol.  I have bought my pieces from her and feel very lucky indeed.  So I will post photos soon and you can all revel in recognition!  And rejoice with me at how blessed I feel to have acquired them!

lol.  I'm being vague.  I wanted to make sure it was okay to divulge.

I was able to buy some wonderful pieces from DiamondJunkie and the ring I'm having done by David right now is her pear halo.  I also bought her beautiful ruby halo and am working on the pendant right now-earrings to follow!

Ohhhhhh, do you and DJ live near one another?  You do have a sparklie godmother if you have the opportunity to purchase DBL pieces from a long time CDIer.  I've only been here for a little less than a year now, so I can't wait to see what treasures you've found there!    icon_queen

we don't and more's the pity on that one.  We met online and she's proven to be an extremely beautiful person.  and I DO feel extremely lucky to have got my hands on a part of her collection!  In my searching for a diamond for the pear halo she stepped in and waved her magic wand once again to alert me to a perfect one that showed up on David's site.  He'll be placing that pear in the ring he made that used to hold hers!

Aw firegypsy you are way too sweet!  It's been a pleasure chatting with you over the last....oh my.....year or so! Wow!  So, so happy that you have a couple of DBL pieces to treasure - they could not have gone to a better person and that pear shape popping up on FB that morning was kismet!!!  I couldn't believe it when I saw it!  I had to email you!  Chuffed to bits it worked out!   Cheesy

I think I speak for all of us when I say that when the pear is all done, WE WANNA SEE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You made an excellent choice in jewelry angels.  DJ is pretty fantastic, and her taste in jewelry is top notch.  Her ruby set is one of my very favorite.  I'm glad you're going to be able to enjoy them.

Now hurry up and go take pictures of the things you've already purchased.  Grin Wink

why thank you!  I will have to get working on some fancy pictures.

Right now I've only one in my possession as ring #2 is on it's way to David as we speak.  I should have taken more photos before I sent it off.  I can't wait to get this beauty back!

I'm hoping one more piece is with me within the next month or so-and the final part of the ruby set not too long after that.  Aaaaaaand I'm already scheming about what will come next!   Evil

I gave David artistic freedom on this one.  I found a stone I loved, but there was a really similar one in the inventory and I told him to use the one that fits the ring the best.  So this is like the best sort of suprise!  The one I bought is an L color and I'm just in love with it, but since the ring is already built it may not be the best choice.  I'll be as suprised as you all once it's back in my hands!  Right now I'm just quelling the excitement in any way I can.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

My beauty is HERE!!!

I would have posted earlier but I've been without power/internet etc. since this past weekend here in CT rotating between warming stations and churches to keep my sanity with three little kids who didn't have school because NO ONE has power!

Anyway, as I sat at a church on Monday I got an exciting phone call from Robert at DBL telling me that my ring was shipping out that very day-due the next day.  I was thrilled, but nervous since so many roads are still impassible here.  I was worried the big brown truck wouldn't make it.  I was also worried that we couldn't sit in a 48 degree house too long-lol.  BUT Mr UPS man did show up around 10 am with the most beautiful ring I have ever had the good fortune to wear.

I name everything and this gorgeous, warm colored pear (she's an M and oh MAN is she perfection!) in 18k rose gold with F-G, VS melee is now called gypsy rose.  Firegypsy was a stage name for me, and this is a perfect fit.  Even dh, who initially wasn't so sure about this ring was blown away.  The depth of the stone combined with the sparkle is simply enchanting.

David, if you read this, you have no idea how much joy you brought me.  I can't wait to do business with you again because you, my friend are simply top notch.  I can find flaws in anything and it's rare I see any piece of jewelry in person that doesn't have some minor flaw that will irritate me.  But this is my second ring from DBL and there is just NOTHING out of place, slightly wonky or otherwise anything less than perfection.

Once I get everything fixed up around here, fridge restocked, laundry and dishes done I will be taking some photos.  I may need some help posting them, but I will post them!

HA!  Unless you want to explain to my three kids why they aren't eating I do!  I just got back from trip one.  They now have at least a bit of food in their bellies.  Luckily we have a gluten free bakery about a half an hour away that just opened back up after getting power back yesterday.  Having celiac disease there isn't much I can give them if we don't have electricity and the ability to cook.  But the bakery provided muffins and soup for free-I love that this miserable situation has brought the community together.

And I got to take my first shower in 6 days!  BLISS!    I am now scrubbed, laundry is running and the dishes are done.  Off to attempt some photos.  All I have right now is my phone, but it will have to do!
