dimension of R6116 and R5028
« on: December 12, 2015, 12:25:56 AM »
What is the dimension of the center stones and the rings of this R6116 and R5028?
Also what is the ring size of the model who is wearing the ring in the pictures?

R5028 is 8.60 x 8.20. Don't know the depth, but I'd guess somewhere around 6 mm
I would say R6116 is around the same size, but the only one who can answer precisely is David... I have pinged him!

The hand shots are of a size 4 finger (approximate guess from me; I know her hands and I know they are small, but I have never asked her which size ring she wears).

HI All!
Sorry for the slow reply. Our hand model is indeed a size 4
Here's a few comparison shots

We did not measure the stone in R6116 before setting ( unfortunately)
Maybe this will help

R5028 outer halo measures 12 x 11.2mm
R6116 is 11.3 x 11mm....
Does this help?

Yes, thank you both to answer my question. And David, thank you for the comparison shots, they are so helpful :)

Tough decision for me. I'm debating about pink or blue, pink or blue, pink or blue ....

I like to get a pink sapphire ring because it is my daughter's birthstone but I also like the three-stone halo style of the blue one

As a side note, when do you think you will have r5416 or r6468 again?

Nah. Not tough at all. Get them both, and wear them on alternate days.

Kidding aside - I'm a big traditionalist, and I'd go for for the blue; I like the setting more as well, which doesn't hurt.

We can likely have a new one made up within about a week. We do intend to put more sapphires on the site next year, and I love the bubble gum pink ones!

Generally speaking, yes. Sapphires that have been worn for years may show wear that would cause some sort of diminution at trade up time...but not always.
We try very hard to make trade up's work for the client.

We picked up a few loose sapphires.
The first one that came in was all window.
Then two others came in- very nice loose sapphires..

Upon closer inspection- both have nice color. But one has some issues with the cut.
The two stones pose an interesting comparison.

But the one on the left has a fairly noticeable window.
The picture above is actually one of the best ( well, it looks the best)

Below you can see the entire cetner of the stone looking dead.

Compared to the one I really prefer- you can get a sense for how much livelier it is in person.
You do give up some surface area- the cetter needed some depth to even out the sparkle- but in my eyes the result justifies it

Thanks David. I think it is a bit small for my taste.

I'm still debating between R6116 and R5028. I have sent you an email about the price inquiry, did you get it?

I'm just used to eBay which will filter out any message sent with an email address in it- hence the cryptic  gee male dot kom spelling.
