A type of blue is coming my way - now with PICS!
« on: June 02, 2014, 07:32:50 PM »
So the moment I saw this stone I knew I had to have it

I have a short list of diamonds I wanted and this one hit 3 of the things on my list (strong blue fluorescence, Yoram OMB and ivory shade) so I had to get it.  I had it set into a rose gold bezel and platinum shank.  Should be here by 10:30 tomorrow morning.

Only bad thing is we are in for rainy yucky weather for the next 2 days :(  I am hoping that isn't true because we're supposed to have an end of the year pool party on Wednesday (doing the no rain dance)

We will take artificial light shots, if natural light fails. You ain't getting off the hook...  >:D

Doing the no-rain dance with you in spirit in any case.  :1962983dancingmonkey:

Supposedly not going to rain as much today.   So hopefully after the storms this morning we should be clear for a while and I can get some photos.

Still concerned about tomorrow though.  I'd love for the kids in the class to have their pool party as they finish Kindergarten and move on to First Grade!  It would be such a fun way to end the year :)

Okay pictures are coming.

The diamond is really super cool.  Indoors in some lighting it did exactly what I hoped it would - it looks peachy pink.  In minimal UV lighting (ie lots of clouds) the diamonds looks completely colorless.  Like bright D colored.  When the sun comes out?  Blue.... ish.

It picks up a little pink and looks almost lavender at times.  I need to sort through the photos I got, but I highly recommend getting a warm colored diamond with strong blue fluorescence and setting it in rose gold :)

Very sunny - where it ranges from more blue to lavender

For heaven's sakes!

That is insanely beautiful. It's wonderful, and it's actually even better than I pictured it. I love this, really love it. I see the stone as pink in many of the pics, just pink, pink, pink. The pinky-lavender shades are just fascinating. It's a one-off, intriguing stone, which of course I love!

Wish you health to wear it.

I think in real life I see more blue than what the photos show, but I noticed a lot of cameras don't always show the blue well.  It's just so cool the way it changes.

I just knew I didn't want "another yellow" (honestly as to not compete with Sunny) and this was a good way to make sure I didn't see yellow in my stone.  The peachy tones are really cool.  I wish I could photograph them better.

I had high hopes for this ring and it sure didn't disappoint!

Thanks!  I was wondering if it would look a bit purplish in the sunlight with the rose gold and sure enough it did.

David is going to be sorry we made this ring - I'm looking at it far too much.

I think this one was meant to be for me.  Just exactly what I was hoping for some day.

Next up brown or green... hmmm....  ;D

I do see a lot of pastels in this ring.  It's been dreary the last few days but I've been enjoying the peachy tones I get in this weather too.  It's really a pretty cut and glad that I have a bigger stone from Yoram :)

My favorite part is that when I put it next to my pink it really shows just as much color, though the tone is different.  really a cool look!
