Do Asschr Cuts face up smaller than emerald cuts?
« on: November 17, 2012, 12:33:12 PM »
Can anyone in the know, tell me if EC are bigger in size then asschers? I keep looking at asschers, but they appear so small for the weight.... it kind of turns me off. Help.

There's no black and white answer here.....
There are Asscher Cuts that are very spready, and Emerald Cuts that are deeper, and face up smaller....
So there's really no rule.....

This said, there is an interesting - if slightly irrelevant - geometrical property: a square diamond of a given weight will be the smallest in perimeter assuming same depth, proportions and faceting style.
