Hooray.  What good news Jen!   We knew you would pass so it is no surprise. I love that amethyst ring it is beautiful, a lovely classic design.
The way that different people react when suffering from stress can be funny (not for them).  My son (civil engineering) came back from one very gruelling session and said that someone had been caught cheating.  It seems a young man was sitting an exam for someone else, how was he caught?  The student he was sitting the exam for was a girl!!!!  How on earth did he(they) think he could get away with it!!!
My son has a little piece of valuable advice for anyone sitting a written exam, do not put your crib(memory enhancer) in an interesting book, if you must find the most boring book possible..  The invigilator saw the book he had next to him and found it so interesting he took it to read while everyone was slaving and fretting away.
I must say that in my daughter´s home everyone is relaxing, my son in law was the happiest person alive when she passed, he said she was unbearable!!  She´s getting a trip to Italy as a prize and then to Paris Disney with the children so all is love and joy at the moment.

Thank you all! I can't quite believe it to be honest because I um, didn't totally understand tax law...

Hey, who cares? I'll never have to think about it again. Joia, the tax book so interesting that you'd want to flick through it hasn't been written yet, so I'd be safe!

Anyone thinking of studying tax law should do so in the UK. I'm beginning to think we have low standards. I passed with distinction, my little certificate arrived in the post today. It's the only statement of academic achievement I've ever thought about having framed, to celebrate the irony! I so didn't understand tax law Grin

Well, there's a lot to be said for rote learning.

I too wonder about the fate of the crying man (and the praying man and the hair puller and the colouring in man etc) but sadly we only get to see our own results. I have to wait until later in the year to find out if I win the prize (believe it or not, there is a cash prize for the highest mark in tax law. Well, you never know, right?)

Thanks so much for your kind words.

Congratulations, Jen!! How exciting, and I hope you win the prize! Now, about the celebratory drink - surely one glass of wine on a Friday night will be fine, and won't hurt anyone involved!

Oh CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SO know that feeling!!  How tremendous for you, YAY!!!!

 party-smiley-052 Pickle bigclap hello2 troll

We have to pass the pharmacy exam, and then for every state we are going to work in we have to pass a law exam for that state.  I'm up to only 3 states at this point, but they're horribly nerve wracking.  I was so convinced I'd failed this last time around that I'd already started studying for the next time I was going to have to take it...then found out I'd passed, WHEW!

GOOD for you!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I did a recital all 4 years.  And yes, the instrumentalists (more strings) were chill!!!

It's called inderal.  It's a beta blocker.  When I finally discovered THAT little trick, my juries went from execrable (shaking, sweating) to decent.  Grin

I totally missed this thread.  Jen, you CRACK me UP!!!!!!

I was reading something the other day, and a fellow who was quoted in the article was described as having two Ph.D.s.  I thought to myself, "What kind of masochist would do that TWICE?!?"  Happiest days of my life, in chronological but not necessarily ranked order: when my parents bought me a pony.  When DH and I got married.  When I passed my doctoral orals and was DONE with exams FOREVER!

Thank you everyone! I still can't believe it. I'm wandering around grinning and mumbling about it. DH had to steer me away from crowded shops today to stop me telling random strangers.  Grin  Yeah, crazy lady can sort out your taxes for you...

IHADP - are you planning on doing any more States? That sounds just perfectly horrible!
Robin- I much preferred my pony!

Ah yes, Robin, inderol. I've heard about it, had it recommended to me, but still don't want to touch it....so i still wander around backstage with palpitations...sigh. What was your dissertation/orals on? You're in a great field!

Congratulations on passing, MM!

Robin -- My problem is that I STILL have to take exams, now, years after graduation.  About two or three nights every month, there I am, sitting for an exam -- and, more often than not, I haven't been to a single session of whatever class I'm being tested on.  Occasionally, in a mystifying but frustrating way, I even know perfectly well that I have already passed this class, and even possess a degree with appropriate honors.  Yet, somehow, I have to take all these tests again -- and I am woefully unprepared.

 Undecided

Need more jewelry to comfort me.

Piglette, you mean the anxiety dreams?  Oh, yeah, I STILL have those-- my favorite was just after I finished my Ph.D. .....

I was back in high school.  I had been told that there'd been some glitch, and if I didn't retake senior English at my old high school, they'd have to take my Ph.D. away.  The catch was that I couldn't just retake the one class; I had to take a full day's schedule.  So I found my locker, and curiously, the guy with the locker next to mine also appeared to be in his 30s.

He asked me, "What's your schedule?"  I handed him my schedule card, and he said, "Oh, look, your P.E. class is CRICKET! What luck! That's really hard to get into!"

I woke up laughing-- mind you, I live in Texas... so cricket is not exactly a big thing here....

I guess the anxiety-dream moral of the story is that there's always a silver lining to every haven't-studied-for-the-test cloud  Wink.

OMG! You mean I still have years  of this ahead of me Piglette???

I'm still having anxiety dreams about being asked to leave the Girl Guides (I did not touch that kid and I don't know where the glue came from, it was so unfair...).

Actually, my main anxiety dream is being called up for military service again and having to find all of my kit in the attic of the house. I can only ever find one boot and never can I find the oddly shaped little handbag issued to female officers.  (Bag, hand, one, female officers, for the use of). It's on the kit list, but never in the attic.

Just what you'd need in a combat zone. A handbag. Only the British Army could dream that one up.
