Just find out this kind of technique from the web.  Curious whether such stones that are enhanced by such technique can be detected by GIA or not.

Many thanks.

From what I understand GIA will not issue a report on this type of clarity enhancement.

Personally this is one CE stone I would never buy.  The only type that I would agree to would be the laser drilling.  GIA will issue a report on those.

Fracture filling isn't considered permanent.  That is why I wouldn't get one.

Correct me if I am wrong.  If the diamond we bought is accompanied with GIA report, it will not be enhanced by this method?

Thank you

What clarity grade is it on the GIA report?

What makes you think it could be enhanced, and moreover with a specific process?

(Yehuda or Yehuda-type enhancements are very easily detectable, often even with the naked eye if you know what you are looking for)

it varies, VVS2, SI1, VS1 with no comments.  So I can assume that there has been no enhancement?  Undecided

I have no idea about this kind of enhancement before.  So I just want to make sure that GIA can detect such thing.

GIA can detect that a diamond has been filled. It will not issue grading reports for filled diamonds because the fillers are not considered to be natural or permanent.

The reason I was asking was to make sure that the report wasn't issued prior to the diamond being filled... but there is no point in enhancing any of those clarity grades, so you can rest easy. If it had been treated before being submitted, it would have been picked up and rejected, as Trinkette explains.
