David,
Have you ever heard of people contesting a GIA grade?  How does that work?

Hi All,
When the person or company that submits a diamond to GIA disagress with the results they can re-submit the diamond for a re-check.
If GIA agrees that they were wrong the first time, they'll issue a new grade, no charge.
If they feel they were right the first time, the client pays 50% of the cost fo the report.

Is it often that they reissue a new grade?

I'd like to know too!  My diamond has an AGS report, and they graded it as having faint fluorescence but I agree with my appraiser it is at least med. maybe even strong.  So I've wondered how often the labs make errors.

I see lots of justice in that emerald cut! If it had more justice I would not be able to sit on my chair.
