Ever since I once took a loose diamond to GIA Carlsbad for grading, I get occassional letters from them. I also get a large publication called The Loupe which is nice, but not something I asked for.

Anyhoo..... I got another letter about a week ago and it said, in part, the following:

GIA Letter 10/23/2007

“In the coming months and for the first time, you will see GIA advertising in mainstream publications like Architectural Diegest, GQ, Men’s Journal, Town & Country, along with an array of web-based platforms.  The ads are designed to drive the public to a new consumer-oriented website which provides information about diamonds, the 4C’s, the grading process, and the value of GIA grading reports.  Our goal is to make the public aware that GIA exists as a resource they can turn to when making purchasing decisions. The message of the public campaign will be reinforced at retail counters, which represent the front line of consumer education.  By mid November we will make available a Retailer Support Kit containing point-of-sale materials to help sales associates better explain the 4C’s and GIA Diamond Grading Reports to their customers.”

There was no URL given for this "new" consumer website.

If I hear more, I'll post an update.

I saw the Town & Country and it was no little ad.  If I remember correctly it was a two page ad and one of those ones that is a little stiffer than the magazine paper so it stuck out.  It was impressive.

Not is Vogue or W.  Was it only for December?  The T&C was December and the Vogue and W were November.  I will check it out.  I am on it doggoneit.

I was at ebay earlier today and off to the side I saw a little ad for GIA! I forgot to click it to see if it was a new site. I'll go back and see if I can get the same ad again and check it out.
