Great point Zoey!
There's a lot of "4c's" pages I've seen that really had...let's put it nicely, less than accurate aspects.
A typical error I see is when the type of generalization that you were led to believe about Fluorescence .
In fact a lot of consumers have read this type of statement, and bought into it.
I did not mean to imply that you were wrong- just that the misinformation is all over the place!
.... I guess this one intrigued me because I've got stones with fluorescence that I picked over ones that did not have it because I preferred how the stones looked visually. They seemed to have more color to me for some reason. I don't see fluorescence as a negative at all and wondered if there were cases that the industry saw it as a positive (particularly with fancies). ...
When I was working at Harry Winston, fluorescent stones were called "Premier"
I don't think they went for more than a similar non fluorescent stone- but I do believe there were buyers that actually looked for such stones.
This was before GIA was prevalent. I was 19, heck, that was before electricity.....
Seriously- a lot of fluorescent stones are the showiest in person. Be it D color, or Fancy Vivid.
In the deeper fancy colors Fluorescence is a real wild card.
It can make a yellow look much more yellow in some lights- and less yellow in others.
