Whether near or far from being reality as yet, we must ALL have our next DBL project in mind.
What is it ? Earrings ? Ring ? Something extraordinary or a once in a lifetime purchase ?
I`d love to hear everybody`s future plans and then hopefully over time to come we can watch them develop into reality.
Mine`s a yellow gold 3 stone ring. I`m a great fan of yellow gold and originally wanted one for my first purchase but the kids bought me a white gold bracelet and scuppered it. Having said that my simple heart ring is SO special it could be made out of plastic and I`d still love it !
Go on tell us ....

That's a good question!  There's just so much I love!  Right now, I'm loving the 3-stone princess on the "new jewelry thread" in platinum.  If I could just try that baby on...I'd be hooked!   princess princess princess

But, I hate to sell my ring before making sure I like this one!   Such decisions!!!!  Tongue

LOL AZ!  I wonder if there's glasses to wear to keep us from seeing shrinkage!   Cool  I have some sort of project in the works all the time!  Why couldn't I have less expensive interests?

Ok I need diamond education here . What is shrinkage ??
Is it the diamond which shrinks or the setting ? This is all new info to me.

Shrinkage is when the diamond 'looks' smaller to you because you have gotten used to the size.  It doesn't discrimate: large and small diamonds are both equally targeted!  Very annoying!  For example, my radiant is 3.65ct but quite often I would swear it is only 2cts max!

Phew thanks DJ. I was thinking it was a technical problem not an eyesight one. You mean to say David`s 11ct monster might only look a mere 9 cts after you`ve worn it a week or two ?

Grin  I've seen the 11ct monster, and if any diamond can make a girl resist shrinkage, it's that one!

Ooooo this is a tough, but fun questions!

I too have the evil shrinkage  Undecided

I would like to have my next DBL project to be... 1)set my pink pear  2)find a colored asscher upgrade to my yellow radiant ring 3)yellow pendant-haven't decided what style yet

The list could go on and on!!! Smiley

I can't see the 11ct monster EVER shrinking. Albeit, my house would have to shrink for me to get it.  Roll Eyes

OOPS! Sorry about my last post, I goofed on that one Smiley I agree wholeheartedly with the house shrinkage statement....I would have to resort to a cardboard box to get that rock lol. Anyways, for my next project I am thinking of another yellow radiant with trills...You know me, I get thrills frim trills. 4

I would really love a complete matching set of something - earrings, pendant, bracelet and ring (and tiara? Grin )

I'm not normally a matchy person at all, but for some reason, I want to try it. All the same cut, style of setting, colour, etc,

It will have to be ECs, because that will match my ering. So, I need studs, (I have a pair of perfect but not too interesting RBs that I can upgrade) so I think my next DBL will probably be an ec pendant.  If I get over my attachment issues, I could sell my two tennis bracelets and get one in ECs too. Voila. The set! $20 says I never wear them all at once.

Jen

ps I actually think my cushion craving has gone away - reset oval is making me happy for now!

I am officially broke, so no multiples!!!!

Seriously, I think that 11 carat WOULD look like a 9 after a while.  I told this to a few of yous, but it's weird how diamond perspective works.. If you look at your hand, the diamond "shrinks" over time... But you see a pic of the diamond the same day, it looks MASSIVE on screen and on film... Don't know why...

I just saw myself on film, at a family party we had a few weeks ago. Not good, and I thought I looked hot that day! Sadly, the camera added a large no of lbs. Mind you, my ering looked bigger too, so it's not all bad!

Oh gosh, you guys crack me up.

Actually, I've already commuicated with David regarding a future project.  I have a pretty H/I VS1 1.21ct EC that I'd like to build a new platinum ring around. The stone was part of a ring that was my mother's (an "unreturned" ER).  My late husband had a WG Art Deco-style custom ring made for it with two sapphire baguettes. I wore the ring 24-7 with my matching WB and rubbed both rings to smitherines. So, now, I've been thinking about flanking the EC with fat traps (a la the #1923 pair), then fat bullets on the outside (like the #1901 pair). I've seen it done with a colored stone, and really liked the look, but, I'm not sure of how I'd like it all colorless.  I'd like the ring to be very classic, yet a little different. BUT, I'd also like to do something with soft pink stones...

For now, I've got to concentrate on getting married in a few months.  This little project will come later, and I WILL be soliciting advice!
