Magnifying glasses. I prefer antique ones but I've bought others. The collection is but 6 at the moment.

I am a shoe and bag nut too, though I am cutting back to make room for the sparklies (the cushion just preempted a new Balenciaga purchase).  Here is my current favs. . .

Forgot to say, the ones on the bottom right are special.  The pink puffs were my grandmother's (she started my shoe and jewelry habit by example!), and the silver sandals were my wedding shoes.

I used to collect Alexis Bittar lucite jewelry but I just sold it all since I stopped wearing it regularly. I want to collect diamonds. Smiley My DH collects rocks. All kinds of rocks, mostly semi precious stones like jaspers, opals, etc. He has BOXES full!! We're building a garage and he's been purchasing lapidary equipment so he can start cutting them to be set into jewelry.

I don't really collect anything but my son has started a rock collection too.  We have a lot of fun with that.  There was an awesome rock stand at the Christmas Market in Aachen this year and I spent most of my time (and money) there!  I got some neat things for the kids, including three different rock hearts for my daughter and an AWESOME sliced fossil - I'll try to take some pics tomorrow and post them.

I love seeing everyone's collections!  I'm sad to say that I don't really collect anything.  I move a lot, so I try to keep my stuff down to a minimum - it doesn't always work, but I try!

Forgot to ask - Snooper, how many copies of each of those books do you have?  I think I see three in the pic.

I have the US version: HB, PB, I read the HB ONLY when it comes out as the paper copies come out a year later:( My 2-6 are true 1st editions

Then I have the UK editions: Adult HB, Children's PB, and one HB Children's book 6.  My students bought me some of the paper back UK ones as they're from the UK but here for their fathers work Smiley

I haven't read all the UK versions, and even though I'm a hard core HP fan, I have NOT read all the books a billion times...

Honestly? I've read each book maybe 3x, 4x max!!! DANG WORK!!!

Sadly, I don't read the HB as I don't want to ruin the bind, and don't want dings, etc.  It's like me with my diamond rings--NO SCRATCHES!!

That's dedication Snoop!  I like the books - I'm actually reading book 2 during off times at work right now.  I plan to read them all again before the last one comes out this summer.

Nice Foxy!  I remember that pic of your hearts all across your back....!

Here's a pic of the fossil I picked up at the Christmas market.  I will try to get a pic of my daughters rock hearts later too.

BigRed, my DH is a currency nut too!  He also has a stamp collection although he hasn't added to it in years.

Amy..Your squash blossom necklace collection is amazing!! My mom has one that she purchased out west before I was born, it's very pretty and one of her most prized collections.
DJ....that ammonite has beautiful colors. Nice find!! DH has several pyritized ammonites that he wants to make into jewelry once we get our "rock shop" set up in the garage.

Funny story about DH's rock obsession....we took a trip out to AZ to visit some geologist friends of mine about 6 months after we started dating. I knew he liked rocks so we went camping near an area where we could do some rock hunting for chalcedony. We had lots of fun and we all collected some specimens. A few days later, we were packing for our flight home and he said.."You go visit with your friends, I'll finish packing." I didn't think anything of it. Then, the next morning when I went to pick up my bag, I seriously couldn't lift it!! Instead of picking out a few specimens to take home with us, he kept them ALL-even the ones our friends had collected (they said they didn't want them) and had split his "loot" between my bags and his! Like I wouldn't notice an extra 30 lbs in my suitcase!!

Thanks guys!

Jewellk, 30 lbs huh? That's funny!! Must have really found some keepers. Let me know if you're ever near Ut. I'll take you to Topaz Mtn.

Jessica, we actually go to AZ once a year or so. My hubby's Grandma lives there (Chino Valley). We've driven to Zuni, NM several times. You can find some wonderful jewelry there. And there's always vendors selling things along the way too! I love road trips---w/all the SW scenery & jewelry!

Snooper, the hearts are my favorite too!!! I love Rocki Gorman stuff, but you have to be careful where you buy it. It's pretty pricey. I got the first one in Park City & paid too much! You can get better deals online.

DJ, that's a cool seashell fossil. I'd love to see pics of the rock hearts too!

icon_thumleft WOW that is amazing! I love looking at the "art work" on the bills you know? Still to date, I think the coolest bill I own is an Aussie "note" and it was waterproof! My friend said, "Submerge it in water" and I said "Are you crazy???" and I did and it was the coolest thing.
