I think this topic has been discussed somewhere/sometime, but I can't remember where or when.

I read somewhere that wealthy women (as in like ooober rich) are shying away from the massive diamonds as wedding rings.  Instead, they are leaning toward simpler, diamond bands for everyday wear.  Reason being that they believe large diamonds have become so *attainable* by *regular* people, and they want to set themselves apart from the common folk.

Have any of y'all heard this before?  Have you noticed it happening around your area?

I'm from Texas where everything is big, so my area wouldn't really be the best place to look!

What are your thoughts?

Well I`m from the UK Red and over here diamond weddings bands are fairly new. Almost all of my friends and colleagues still wear traditional plain gold bands. For a while I did notice that some younger newly weds were foregoing ER`s altogether and wearing just a diamond set broader wedding band and platinum now seems very popular.
As for noticing the oober rich, well I love the idea the Royals have. All their wedding rings are made from the same chunk of Welsh gold which was mined and then given to the Royal family. Welsh gold is very rare and the so called Welsh gold jewellery we mere mortals can buy has only a touch of the real thing in it. Now THAT`s exclusivity. Your own family chunk of rare gold !

Diamonds are like people, put them under a microscope and you`ll always see a flaw but hold them up to the Sun and each and every one is beautiful.

I've never heard this officially, nor have I seen the wealthy women in my area wear a band vs. a rock.

However, this did make me think of the celebs... Obviously they have tons of money.  You rarely see them wear their ER out in public.  They can often be seen wearing their wedding band and/or a few rings (stack).  I'm not sure if it's because they want to set themselves apart from the general public, but I always assumed it was because they wanted to be casual and not have to worry about brining attention to themselves??

Don't know...
