i just realized i never posted any of my vacation pics here! hello!

My trip began in puerto rico, my friend and i stayed there the night before our cruise left.  We then moved on and visited barbados, st. lucia, antigua. st. martin, and st. thomas.  it was fabulous and i have already booked a similar cruise next june for my honeymoon!

the last pic is from the last night of the cruise, it was about 4am, no explanations necessary!

Lucky you Sanchica, what a  beautiful place.  A honeymoon there will be great. You can see in the 4 am photo what a good time you two had.
I loved seeing the photos.  Post the others when you get them.

It looks like you gals had a great time! Thank you so much for sharing! Tell us more about the cruise itself. Did you like the ship? Did you feel safe?

the whole trip was fantastic!  the ship was huge and had every commodity you could imagine!  since we booked a hotel the night before through the cruise line, royal caribbean int., we were allowed to board the ship early.  we were on the ship by 1pm and got to explore everything.  we were on the adventurer of the seas which is one of the larger more luxurious ships.   there was a very large mix of people on board, young old and in-between.  about half of the people onboard were from puerto rico so my minor spanish skills came in handy.  aside from the daily shore excursions just being on the ship was so much fun!  there was always something to do, the crew was fantastic, the food was excellent and had a lot of variety, it was a great experience.

as far as safety is concerned, i never felt "unsafe" on my entire journey.  especially on the ship, the security is very tight, and anyone there is either on vacation or works for the cruise line.  there was no "riff-raff".  even stopping on the islands, just about everything we did was done through the cruise line, snorkeling, nature hikes, and of course, tons of shopping!  there is certainly a huge amount of poverty on some of the islands, but the people are all extremely friendly and helpful.  it was my first time out of the country, and we did go off on our own in puerto rico, antigua, st. martin, and st thomas.  it was all very fun and i honestly was never "afraid".  im also from ny though and a bit used to an overpopulated city surrounding.  we took the bus in puerto rico from our hotel to old san juan, if you can manage that one, you can do anything while you are there!

the cruise we booked for our honeymoon is the same ship and it also leaves from puerto rico, we are going to fly in 2 or 3 days early and stay there first, then the ship goes to aruba, curaco, st martin and st thomas, i cant wait!

I have rosacea too, (background is Bavarian and Welsh), and my skin turns lobster in the sun....this summer has been SPF 50 3x a day...what do you use on your skin?

Being of Irish descent, with almost red hair and freckles.  I am afraid I have always hated them and I have almost swatted people who say they like them.  Sanchica you are the exception of course. When I was about 14 I read in a magazine that a good freckle remover was a mixture of milk and lemon juice and that you should sleep with this on your skin........imagine how it smelt!LOL I
Perhaps what made me dislike my freckles  even more was that my Irish descent mother was from a family  of those dark  Spanish looking "black Irish" and my also Irish  father had the most gorgeous golden skin with black hair and green eyes (good looker too).
I am looking forward to more pics of that cruise.

to be honest, i only wear anything spf in the very beginning of the summer.  i have had so many sunburn problems in the past, especially with my face, that now i let myself get sun exposure slowly and build up a tan without letting it burn.  usually if anything i do put some spf on my face.  but for me, i have to let it be out there to keep from getting hurt.  thanks to my caribbean vacation, i can go outside all day in the sun and i only get more brown, lol.  the freckles do come out with a vengeance though!
