Took me a moment to work out why you were thinking about cocktails, but I get it!  Grin

Go for a green diamond next time - a pinch of salt and just a dash of lime!

So last night I totally had a dream about the DBL rolling ring.  No joke!  Mrs M was there showing one off.  Wonder if that is a sign for you... however I totally understand all the size issues you might have.

I admit one of the reasons why I never ordered a rolling ring is the size issue.  My hands have changed size enough in the last year that I am worried to get a ring I won't be able to wear 5 years down the road.  Hopefully my size has leveled off, but I still worry about it.

I'm seriously second guessing it. It's the size thing - 99% of people don't really see a change in their finger size with weight fluctuations, but naturally I do. Of course I do. Why did I think this would be easy?  Grin

DH very sensibly suggested just waiting a year or so, until I'm done with weightloss, then get it. He didn't say "pick something else in the meantime" so I reminded him that he should have said that, so he said it (eventually, so I'd shut up and he could just go to sleep already...)

I think your DH is right about the ring.  If it were a ring that you could resize it isn't such an issue.  I think with me 85 pounds more did add about a size, but I am not totally sure about weight stuff for me because I was a size 6 on my left hand for many years.  Even when I gained weight my size didn't change.  But when I started losing all the weight it went down.  It's even shrunk since I stopped losing weight.

So I have no idea how that all works for me.  Probably why when I wanted to buy rings for my reset, I knew I wanted only a half to 2/3 style eternity so I could resize if I needed.

Anyway it is wise to wait though that isn't quite so much fun.

What else do you have in mind to brighten your life? Grin

MM-the size question is my only reason for not owning a rolling ring myself!  I have wanted one for many years, but my finger size is like yours-not only changes from season to season, but also from morning to evening---so I feel your frustrations with trying to choose a size!!!  Maybe something else sparkly in the meantime will tide you over   Evil

Mrs. M, I think the suggestion to wait, with the added bonus of getting something else in the meantime, is a Win-Win suggestion! If you get the rolling ring now, that's it. Finito. However, if you wait, you'll enjoy another year of planning-to-get-a-ring angst and excitement (we know you love it) and TWO pieces of jewelry instead of one. I'd do what any Jewelry  icon_porc would do... stick it out for MORE (and start planning now for the accompanying three-ring trinity-style pendant to match the rolling ring)!!!!

I'm back in indecision hell.

I have just lost that extra couple of pounds that has changed my right hand ring size. No kidding, last week it was just over a size 8. Today, a 7 would fit perfectly. There is a size 7 rolling ring in stock right now. What to do? What to do? What to do?

Remember... you can get away with having it a little too big; however, it won't roll at all (let alone be comfy) if it is on the small side. OTOH, I can't think of a better reason to stay fit and keep that smaller ring size... he-he.

What would I do?  I'd get it... I would take it as a sign that you are meant to have it.  Then again I had that crazy dream and all that you got the ring Wink

That would be my absolute motivation to stay that weight.  I do it with clothes I love.  I splurge on a top or a pair of pants.  If I gain anymore than a couple of pounds things don't fit.  My shorts in particular are very touchy about the weight gain.  Since I hate shopping for shorts in particular it keeps me honest and motivated.

Also is your left hand smaller than your right?  If things do fluxuate in the summer could you at least wear it on your left hand?

I'm with Squigs..it's a sign!  I say, see if you can put that ring on hold for a week, and if it stays a 7, nab it!

If it were me, I'd say give it a couple more weeks and see if the size 7 holds-if so order away!!!

I think you should buy yourself a size 7 ring, and a nice, possibly antique gold chain on which to dsiplay the ring when it doesn't fit...

(I was going to write: "You are Reed Richards, and I claim my five pounds", but I guess the references were rather obscure, so I thought I'd contribute something marginally more useful first)

Once again OMC comes in with a brilliant idea!  Wear it on a chain the days you cannot wear it on your hand Smiley

Are you a Marvel fan?

I love this idea.  Primarily because it requires the purchase of MORE jewelry.  I want to know where to buy an antique gold chain.  I needs one.

This might just be the answer, OMC. Clever man.

Still, I went out today and had to scrape a little ice and snow off my car. Turns out that cold makes my fingers puff and swell. I had to cut the size 6 off. Ooops!

It isnt the end of the world with a home made sterling version, but it is not a good plan for a diamond one.

Since the early '70s.

There's some stuff on eBay, but it requires a fair amount of scouring and guessing or it's horrendously priced. Otherwise, pawn shops are not bad for this kind of thing. It's more a matter of patience than anything else - it took me  a year to find a pocket watch chain "as I wanted it", but eventually...

Well, I made a ton of stuff for Christmas gifts. I didn't have time to take photos, though. It was a new definition of the last minute! I have two weeks vacation though, so I should get on with it.
