I love this sapphire. It has left. I have to admit....I wanted her. Any of you the lucky recipient?

Yes, this was an amazing stone.
Here's how we set it....

If only I was the one who the ring was made for.......

 Confused42  Woah..............

I was lucky enough to have seen this sapphire during one of my visits to DBL. It is one of my all time favorite gemstones. The photos here really show me how a setting can totally change the character of a gem (or, at least, my perception of a gem's character!). Obviously, the sapphire is amazing, but, this setting gives it a look that I never would have imagined. For me, this gem was an elegant, light, diaphanous ladies three-stone candidate – to be set in platinum between two high-white step cut diamonds. Or a solitaire with a delicate diamond encrusted band. Or, a ladies solitaire with classic baguettes. But, look at it NOW. Light and weighty at the same time. Modern and timeless. Strong. Wow. Impressive. Never could I have imagined how successful this design would become...

Very nice.  I'd love a chunky ring like that.

Oh, now that turned out well! What a stunning ring.

I hope its new owner enjoys it, it's just amazing. I love the sidestones too.

Nice bezel. I still am of the opinion that ladies wear rings better, but never mind.  Wink

Ditto Mikla.
Ditto OMC.

However, regardless of how I may feel, it really is a noteworthy piece.

Bawling Bawling   I so wanted to set this baby east-west in 18K yellow brushed gold (size 12 - 12.5) with a partial bezel in platinum,  much like Half Bezel Men's Ring, for DH's wedding ring.  But I know that gentleman really loves his ring.  That was a glorious sapphire. Heart Heart

Ditto, Foxylady. I just feel a bezel setting doesn't do justice to such a wonderfully cut sapphire. And in a man's pinkie ring at that...  Embarrassed  But hey, that's how life goes sometimes...  Roll Eyes

Oh, I love the stone in that setting! I think it's a really cool ring. DH wouldn't wear a ring with a stone, but if he would, I'd buy one like that for him. Not least because I'd wear it too! Grin

I like to see stones in unusual settings, and some men can carry off a diamond or gemstone ring really well. One of the best I've ever seen was on the man I bought my last car from. It was a mouthwatering OMC with rubies on either side. Naturally, we got chatting about it - it's been in his family for at least three generations. Oh, it was a stunner!

I could see this sapphire ring being handed down for several generations. I hope its new owner loves it!

Holy Cow. It's gorgeous but I'm jealous it's a man ring because I wanted it for me! Not that it's in the budget right now.
