Your right, I really do love pink! It's just been my mind racing thinking about my new ring. I want it to be perfect and I want to maximize it's appearance. That is why I even considered a yellow halo. I was remembering that double halo David did around that yellow diamond. The first halo was yellow and that looked so good. It really made that stone look huge. But your right......I am passionate about pink! So I should stick with what I love!

BR, I think that you will know more once you see her in person!  Of course I have still yet to decide what to do with my EC...but that is neither here nor there...

However, I am very partial to the pink idea myself.  You would NEVER see anyone else with something like it  Grin

I'm not sure, I am going to over night my payment and such on Monday. He said that he has all the parts right there so I would imagine that it shouldn't take to long. I'm actually glad that I will have time before the halo because there have been a lot of things swirling around my head. Like tsavorite garnet and the spess garnet. I'm going to be spending a lot of time searching for loose gem parcels. I even thought about apatite. I'll know better once I have my hands on that yellow baby!

The GIA calls it a fancy deep yellow. The clarity is VS2 and the measurements are 6.18 by 4.42 by 2.93. Depth is 66.3%. David described the hue as quite orangey at times. He said that the shade is quite close to vivid. I can't wait to see it in person! I just love the intense color! I hope it has the sparkle to go with it! But knowing David and how he chooses his gems, I'm sure that it does!

The pear with a pink halo! Also would you mind doing one with a yellow halo and a dark green halo. I've been thinking of all the options!

How could I forget that. Yes a orange halo too! But really orange without the hints of red. Thanks AZ! And the green I was thinking about was tsavorite garnet. A real dark green. I guess you could say evergreen???

I love the color and sparkle of that pear. The shape, too. I think if you do dark green it might take away from the center stone color. Just my two cents.

But I like the idea of a white or pink halo.  The contrast between a stone that saturated with that much sparkle looks great with white because of the yellow/white contrast. The white lets the yellow be the star of the show and sets it off.

This is a good example even though they are not pears. But these are intense yellows, close to vivid like yours.

Thanks Webmistress, I knew you experts wouldn't let me down. I'm just glad that I have a few months to decide on the halo. What are your thoughts on a yellow halo. I thought the double halo David did was amazing. I don't want a double halo but with that ring the first halo was yellow and it made that pear look HUGE!!!

Uh-Oh. . . I think you just gave me an excuse to show of my yellow halo earrings again!!!  They definitely make the centers bigger than ones I have seen with white halos.  I personally love the look!!

Yes...I just love that pear!   I definately see icy white diamonds around that stone.  You don't want anything to "compete" with the color of that diamond!   I think it may bring out the "orange" tone in the diamond! That diamond deserves to take center stage! toothy1  Just so yummy! ~Ronda

BR, here's some photoshop variations for you.

And I'm sure you know that these are just samples and that a lot of how it looks in the real depends on the color/hue/cut/sparkle of the actual gems you use...  Wink

I LOVE RHONDA! Kiss

I like both the white halo and the pink.  The yellow and the orange kind of blur the whole thing for me - they seem to take away from that delicious pear.  The green is too busy.  What do you think BigRed?

Great work Rhonda!

As much as I love the pink, I might vote for the white... It's a hard call BR.
