Man, do I have to do everything around here?

« on: November 17, 2011, 03:54:20 PM »

I saw this today online and thought it was neat. I can see a DBL colored diamond in this setting...can't you? I don't think the craftsmanship is as good as our Uber line but the design is nice. ( Actually it kinda sucks...look at the shank to the left of the stone....stuff like that drives me crazy. We are so spoiled here...lol.)

Hm. Not for me. Apart from the crapmanship problem, I don't like the brutal disconnect from the horizontal line of the shank to the vertical line of the setting/stone. However, as my great-aunt was fond of saying "not everybody likes peppermint".

the brutal disconnect from the horizontal line of the shank to the vertical line of the setting/stone.

Funny...and that's what I like about it.  I always think of emerald cuts as being very sharp lined so this works to my eye. I think the disconnect makes the stone pop.

I kind of like it too.  A cute dainty little ring.  I like the idea of the texture of the band (not the workmanship obviously) and I think this would be neat with all kinds of little stones.  Actually I could see it in many shapes as well.

I envision stacking a bunch like this or wearing the one alone when going for a dainty look.

Mmmm... peppermint.... I hate this time of year because everyone is coming out with their peppermint ice creams and hot chocolate.  Really a tough time of year for me to avoid not having more than one (or five) of those Wink

I'm for stackers of any kind, I actually "need" an emerald cut stone in my stacker...providing that the workmanship is DBL quality!  It's so easy to get spoiled around here... Embarrassed

I like the contrast too, but the workmanship is not lovely. In fact, it looks like I made it myself... Grin

You made me laugh, OMC.  I needed that.

We just got back from Sam's Club - I was holding the peppermint bark, and DF was holding the Baklava.  We came home with the Baklava.  I do like baklava, but I'm sure I would have liked the two-toned peppermint bark much more. (sigh)

It's an interesting ring, I like it for the antique-iness of it.

I find it too abrupt in the vertical to horizontal.  I guess I prefer wintergreen.

Not to threadjack too much - but I LOVE Wintergreen LifeSavers.

it's not bad, but is the shank concave?  makes me think it's going to attract dirt and gunk like a magnet.
