Welcome to our corner. We're delighted to have you. And I can concur with the withdrawal. I left my rings on a trip once. No more. I could not do it. After one week I was insane.

'Hartburn' is in/near 'Stockton', right?

DJ -- Have you ever heard of a town called - I kid you not, "Giggleswick"?
I have a friend who is from there -- it is in the Yorkshire downs, or dales, I forget.  But it sounds (and is) quaint, as is she!!!
She wears antique garnets and pearls -- would never consider something like a diamond!! Too American, she thinks!
So when I wear my stuff, I get some sideways looks. Anyway, we like each other regardless!

Oh you are making me homesick!  Yes I have heard of Giggleswick but I don't think I've ever been (I may change my mind if I ever DO go and realize I have been there once with my Mum!).  North Yorkshire is full of the most beautiful little villages.  My goodness it makes me heart sick just thinking about it.  My mother's family were farmers that worked and toiled the land of North Yorkshire and I feel supremely at home in the countryside there.  It is something I will probably cry over leaving behind when we do move back to the States.  My mother was born in Husthwaite near Thirsk and my cousin lives in 'Baxby Manor' there.  There's nowhere quite like North Yorkshire.  *sigh*  I need to take a trip home soon.   Cry

Gigglesworth and Hartburn arenīt they love names?  Funny but lovely.  I had an ancestor from Binsted in Hampshire, I went to see where he and the family lived and found that years ago  Viscount Montgomery had bought the mill and turned it into a beautiful mansion.  Issington Mill.  My cousin who used to live in Bath (now that is really beautiful) has now moved to within sight of the very rude Giant.
A very different kind of view totally.   Whistle

Now I really want to go to Yorkshire - have never been but I know it's hauntingly beautiful. I love the Bronte sisters and their work - esp. JANE EYRE, and have been dying to go to Haworth -- someday will get there.

Don't get too homesick, DJ -- I'm sure you'll get back there some day (probably with your kids) and show them the world you love!!!
