I have been thinking of having my 'Rocket' shaped diamond set into a ring, what do you think?

I see some pink in it so I was thinking rose gold prongs for sure.   Smiley

Yes, rose gold for sure.  I'm thinking either a bezel (not sure how delicate the tip is...) or a solid 5-6mm band, with it in the center (like KK's husbands ring)

I initially saw this as a 3 stone ring, with bullets Smiley

I had also considered a pendant, but I seem to gravitate towards rings-so I can look at them myself!!! Cheesy

IT'S BEAUTIFUL!  I'm like you on the ring thing, I like to be able to see it myself all day. Wink  I'm trying to visualize a bezel setting and band as you mentioned, with the bezel being rose gold, and at the tip of the bezel where the point is, put a small round pink diamond into the bezel setting, set perfectly smooth, to accent the nice point.  (Is it gypsy set, or hammer set??? I don't know what ya call it.)  I definately like the bezel set idea, to protect the point, and for a smooth, sleek look.  Just an idea from an amateur, but jewelry lover! Heart love7 Heart

I don't know I think that shape is screaming pendant to me! I am having a hard time visualizing it set in a ring. Do you think you could photoshop it into a ring? But I would say definitely rose gold!!!!!

I could definitely see in set in a pendant with the point up and a bullet with the point down in the bail.   But I am still liking the ring idea Cheesy

Well I have been giving this one some thought and I am almost 100% that I'm going to have David set in into a 3 stone ring with step cut trills and a two toned setting(rose and white gold)  I don't think that it is worth me spending my money on platinum for this stone.  Haven't decided on 18k or 14k, normally I would just say 18k, but like I said not sure if is worth the money to set this stone Smiley

I love the shape, it is just so unusual and it looks really art deco-ish to me. Sure we can't talk you into a pendant thoug?? It will be gorgeous in a ring, but I really love the idea of it in a pendant for some reason (on a really long chain, so you can look at it, maybe?).

Looking forward to seeing what you do with it! I love the idea of a two tone setting, too. Pink gold is so pretty and it will bring out any flashes of pink in the stone.

Fun project!

OH cool! I like the idea of two tone.  There's such a thing as Step Cut Trills??? Can any side stone be made into step stones? I'm clueless in this area!

Now heres a thought... Would it be possible to cut off the tip? Or is that NOT an option.  Just curious.  Although the tip would tie in the trills well!!!!!

I am really curious to see how this one turns out.  Such an unusual shape but I'm certain it will be stunning no matter what you decide.  You have excellent taste!
