has anyone heard of Fortunoffs

A friend of mine who lives in NY tells me that Fortunofs recently downsized their jewelry department in all areas except Pearls.
She says it was done because of the high cost of  the precious metals and diamonds.
She was shocked when she recently went there to browse.
Has anyone noticed a downsizing of major retailers ?
I guess I don't  browse the malls and retail jewelry stores enough to notice

i live right bye fortunoffs!  they are the biggest department store in the area for anything for the home & fine jewelry.  a lot of brand named stuff and colored diamonds, huge diamonds, but verryyyyy expensive!  i went there to compare my asscher halo to one they had which was similar and theirs was 10k!!!!  i did notice that they are shrinking down a little, but if you want something they dont have they will get it for you...
