I just read an article on my home page that Liz Taylor's 33.19 ct. emerald cut diamond ring along with some of her other magnificent pieces are going up for auction.  I could totally pull that off.

given that we have the same name, I feel as though I should at least be allowed to babysit for her collection.  I'd take rull rull good care of it.   angel

Haha.  No, not yet.  DF and I have been together since 1994.  We bought a house together in 2002 and in 2008 he finally put the ring on my finger.  (Check out this thread for a peek http://coloreddiamon...your-jewels/my-er/0/).  We don't have a date, but I'm sure we'll go see the mayor sometime soon.

Nope.  I think I win.  My married name IS Elizabeth Taylor.  David can confirm!  I've had a decade of heckling as a result.  I TOLD him he should take my name....but nooooooooooooooo.  People are always like, "wow, you're parents gave you a great name!"  Yeah.  They didn't.  I married into it.

The best part is that I live across the street from Nancy Drew.  And in real life I know someone who lives right by me who is Grace Kelly.  lol.  I still get to lay claim to the jewels though!  No one trumps Elizabeth Taylor's jewels!

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!  That ring is STUNNING.  And funny enough, I'm Elizabeth M. Taylor!

DAF, I LOVE YOUR ER!  I love the rainbows too...stopping to smile at the rainbows is as important as smelling the flowers...IMO!  With or without the mayor or the papers...you got the "married" thing all over you, the house and the cats.  Don't make me start singing..."Our house...is a very, very, very fine house...with (unknown number)  cats in our yard???  Oh forget it... That's so cool.  You iniitally didn't specify that you had the whole name thing going, so I thought you were just an Elizabeth.

When you share a name with someone famous, people don't forget you.   Flowers2  I propose we share Liz's collection.

It's true, they rarely forget.  It helped back when I was still actively working in the entertainment industry because people did remember me!  Now, mostly they laugh at me and ask a. what number husband I'm on, b. if I have lavender eyes or c. if I routinely demand jewelry.

First husband, green eyes and YES!  Although someone needs to read dh the rules so he becomes more compliant.  Demanding doesn't mean receiving, mores the pity.

We can certainly share the collection!  I'd be honored!  Where shall we go to claim what is rightfully ours?   icon_queen

And DAF-is there a photo thread here with your animals?  I'd LOVE to see photos!

My (never used) desktop has all of the photos.  In another thread, someone asked if I had other pictures of my beloved Fudgekin, who passed away a few weeks back.  I do, I just have to get them off of that computer.  It's on my "To Do" list for this weekend.

Slideshow!
The Emerald and Diamond necklace isn't to shabby, either.
The items are on display at Christie's in New York.

Here's a head-on shot of the ring.

Oh, and BTW, take a look at those prongs.

Hey wait, David, weren't you supposed to be paying Mrs. T there for the privilege of her allowing your jewels to adorn her body?  I'm just saying.  I know some celebrities   do get paid for wearing designer stuff.
