I just saw on CNN she has had child number 17. Wow, she has been pregnant an entire decade now.

I've seen a show on them before.  I can't imagine.

I am truly amazed by the efficient way they run their family though.  I'm an efficiency nut, and it was fun to watch how they accomplish everyday tasks.

The children all seem very well behaved and happy.

I haven't hear of them before - they must have huge grocery bills! Grin

I saw a snippet on this family today and I was thoroughly impressed!  Okay, so 17 kids isn't for most people but from what I can see they are doing a remarkably good job raising their children - better than many families you see with only a couple!  I have to take my hat off to them.  Being a parent is the hardest job in the world and one that is not given enough praise.  While I can't fathom parenting that many children, more power to this family - they seem to be raising some wonderful kids and it is obviously bringing great joy to them too.  Bravo!

They must be buying birthday presents every other week! Do they celebrate Christmas? If so, they'd better start wrapping gifts tomorrow! Must be a heck of an organisational triumph just getting everyone up and fed in the morning. I get tired just thinking about it. They must be amazing people!

Jen - I actually read that they spend about $2000 a month on groceries, and they work hard to keep it that low.

If I ever see another program about them, I will watch it.  It's amazing to see how they function.

They don't carry any debt (even their home), their children look quite happy, and they are well taken care of.  If having bunches of children is what makes them feel complete - all the more power to them.
