The best tiara for me of all times was the one that Princess Margaret bought for her wedding, the Poltimore? I think, has anyone got a pic?
She was a dream, a simple silk organza dress and THAT tiara, but I donīt think anyone else could wear it like the beautiful Margaret Rose.
I rather like the one that Clotilde of Savoy wore for her wedding too and the beautiful ruby one given to Princess Mary of Denmark.

I might have to turn out a few pockets to see if I have any left over change.
I wonder if anyone is going to wear the tiara or just have it to gloat over on occasional visits to the bank.

I love Princess Graceīs dress, oh I forgot, the tiara isnīt bad either.....
LOL.

now that i think more about it, i wonder why in the world Princess Margaret's children would sell something like that? after all, they are royals and you would think they would want to keep important jewels in the family. how bad can your finances be when your aunt is the Queen?

this is another photo of camilla Duchess of Cornwalls tiara as seen in the 1st page of this thread. i just thought you all might find it interesting that this is actually a very historical piece and was rarely seen until given by the queen to camilla.
this is called the delhi durbar tiara and was made for Queen Mary for the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary when they became Emperor and Empress of India.
It was worn with a crimson and ermine cap underneath and at one time actually held diamonds cut from the cullinan diamond.  ok, i think i will go gag now. Undecided

say OMC, what do you with all the clips you buy? does the wife wear them? or are they just for collecting? or are you going to make a tiara once you have fitted them together?  Grin

The wife definitely wears them - though not all of them at once. And they are so different in style that a tiara would look such a hotch-potch... perhaps Camilla might like it Grin

heres another picture of HRH wearing the Queen mothers boucheron tiara. also, the british tabloids dubbed her the "Duchess of Diamonds" after she appeared at a function wearing this diamond necklace. it must be nice to be the favored wife.....

Looks like she can scarcely contain her glee. I don't know, wearing ALL those diamonds, combined with the unshy neckline, and her expression... it seems a bit uncouth for some reason. Can't quite put my finger on it. Oh well. Lucky Camilla.

Camilla is finally in the position she has coveted for decades.  A Cheshire cat grin would hardly be appropriate for HRH.   smarty
