And, Mrs. M, what did grandma say about wearing backwards upside down pumps?  Roll Eyes

Ha!

She'd have LOVED these shoes. My grandmother may have grown up in a poverty stricken, grimy, coalmining town, devoid of hope or charm and surrounded by heavy industry,  but she still did her serious shopping on 5th Avenue. Wink

Hey Miz M!  I'm a coalminer's graddaughter, too - only from the mines in Pennsylvania on this side of the pond.  What a hard, frightening and thankless job it is, too. Being a coal miner, not a grand daughter, that is! I never got to know my grandparents tho.  They both passed when my Mom was a young girl.

My grandparents on my father's side came from a long line of coal miners. They had some hair raising tales!

My aunt (their youngest daughter) emigrated to New York in the 1960s, so my grandmother did a fair bit of shopping there. She had some beautiful things. I think she would have enjoyed the upside down heel shoes, for their sheer ridiculousness!
