OMC- I thought you had mentioned in a previous chat how to cook children.  I found this recipe in  a vintage cookbook for preserving children, and wanted to share it:

Ingredients include:

1 large grassy field

6 children

3 small dogs

deep blue sky

narrow strip of brook with pebbles

hot sun

flowers

Mix children with dogs and empty into field...stirring continuously.   .... bake in the hot sun.  When children are will browned they may be removed.

This is the Swiss version (experimented yesterday, with the cubs's first cousins):

1 snowy valley

4 children

2 large dogs

2 sleighs

deep blue sky

narrow strip of brook with ice and snow

hot sun

snow-covered firs

Mix children with dogs, adding liberal sprinkling of snow everywhere. Remove when children are completely blue and warm with hot chocolate sauce.

Is that SWISS hot chocolate sauce?Huh?  If so, can the recipe be stretched to add 1 "older" child to the mix???

Of course it's Swiss chocolate. We are in Switzerland.  Grin

Anybody is welcome to join - however, be warned that to reach the snowy valley you have to trudge through about a mile and a half in fresh snow, about 6 feet deep. In most places it's compact enough to hold a - ahem - slightly overweight six-foot tall adult. But in other places the aforementioned adult was sinking down to his crotch.

No chocolates given to anyone who does not introduce themselves properly, and keeps posting inane comments to old threads.

I love both versions!!  I think my son would be all over the snow.  Me?  I can't say I would but the idea of being in Switzerland again isn't half bad Wink

Though admittedly today I am glad we are finally back to a regular schedule and he'll be in school for the first time in 3 weeks Shocked
