Sad to say, but I have yet to watch an entire episode of AI.  I hear the auditions are pretty funny, but part of me thinks they're done on purpose (the ones who dress up  as say... Thor with pumps and pink hair singing "Memory" or something?).

The article is interesting though... Especially this:

"Were they just cast aside this year to make way for the plants? It’s likely that if you tried out for the show and failed, or if a friend with an amazing voice tried out and was turned away, it was to make room for the established professionals."

more like failed professionals on some cases...

previous album and recording contract?  grammy nominated duet with alicia keys?  c'mon...

 They also let some of them use instruments during the final selection process??   The only thing that says to me that this is nothing new... is because past season finalists like "Constantine",  Taylor Hicks, and a few others that I can't remember, where also in bands.   

I think they should get back to basics....and find the true "hidden" talents.     I still love the show though.   With the writers finally coming off of strike with the other shows,  I look forward to the show in fact.   Not much else on--

I felt bad for him too Ace.   I think they misconstrued his fair and being naive as overconfident.    What a bummer..

Anyone else as hooked on this as I am?
Castro's "Hallelujah" inspired me to find the Jeff Buckley version.  I'm absolutely mesmerized by this performance. Such a tragic tale that he drowned so young too.  His performance of "Grace" is incredible too, imo.
