hi all. i am in need of some advice about getting my jewelry insured. as you might expect, i went to my homeowners insurance first, and they wanted way to much money. besides that, they would only insure up to $10,000. they also wanted appraisals on everything i wanted insured. most expensive pieces come with appraisals, but what about all those $300.- $1000. items i have purchased over the years? i'm not sure its worth paying for an appraisal of 20 rings of varying quality.
as a general rule, i keep 70% of my jewelry in a safety deposit box and just rotate rings from time to time. but after having my second most expensive piece replaced with a CZ......( yes, i have a NEW box for those of you in the know........) i think its time to buy insurance.
i found a site online called jewelers mutual.  has any one used them?
any advice would be appreciated.  feedback

saqsay-the nice thing with JM is that you can get an online quote to see what you would be paying with them---but they also require appraisals, on all new pieces insured with them, to be less than a year old.  After 3 years(I believe) they usually give a discount on premiums.

Very easy to get pieces insured, but I've never filed a claim with them(and hope I never have to)!!!

I've been pondering the insurance question as of late, because it does add up quickly!
