For those of you who are not familiar with Nascar, this is Jeff Gordon's race car.  It took me 3 days to paint this while taking care of my 2 toddler's while my husband was out of town.  tard  When I make my mind up to start a project, I go "full throttle".    I kinda laugh because right after I finished this, Jeff Gordon had his race car repainted with flames!!  Growing up I often loved to paint and draw.......but I have to say,  cars were not my specialty!!   I thought I would pull my hair out trying to get it look 3 dimensional!  BangHead   I have already repainted his room.   His next muriel is going to be really simple....the AIR JORDAN symbol in Black!!

That is super cute. I love it, ronda.

My son's room has GIANT hand prints floor to ceiling and within the hand prints are smaller, real hand prints of a slightly lighter color.

I take it your youngun' is a race car fan.

He has since then (7 years later) switched over to being a sports nut!    That boy comes into our room every morning after he has watched ESPN and gives us the latest News.   I think he could quite possibly be a sportscastor!!!! Smiley

That sounds neat WM....did you use his hand?  I bet that was pretty tedious! ~Ronda

That is so impressive!  I love it!  I would never ever be brave enough to try something like that, but I guess you know your talent.  My son has to settle for Wallies (his room is painted blue with fish wallies along the bottom and surf shop stuff on the walls).  They are particularly great for concealing extra holes you made while trying to hang things in the wrong places!!

Thanks GL...sounds like the wallies work out perfectly.  Don't worry about those holes.....I am sure your son will make a few more the older he gets!! LOL! Wink    ~Ronda

Ronda,

How talented you are!!  You son is very lucky to have a Mom who can just "poof" do this stuff!  My kids would have just loved having this in their rooms!!

Love the painting!  Have you ever thought of selling something like this on eBay?  I am a stay at home Mom b/c I sell on eBay..........people sell paintings like this for kids rooms ALL the time!  And yours is MUCH nicer than most I have seen!  They usually paint it on this really thick compressed board that you get at Home Depot (or similar store)..........just a thought.............if you are interested in doing it part time......I'll help you get set up..................I *LOVE* eBay.........and I will gladly share that addiction with ANYONE!  OH my!

Thanks... I am an advocate of Ebay.   No, I have never considered doing something like that.   It took me sooo long to do that painting that I wonder if it would be worth it?   Thank for letting me know.  If I get serious about it, I will PM you.

NO ring yet?   Oh you are going to be breathless!  Make sure you are sitting down when you open the black box!!

I love your avatar....your both so adorable!~Ronda

It took me a while to get used to all this lingo too! I didn't know what DH, SIL or MIL was for the longest time! But once you catch on you'll be a pro!
