DH and I really enjoyed watching that clip! Having been there recently, it was wonderful to see the Diamond District again! Like a holiday video, only better!

Thanks for posting it David, I love it! You came across really well. I had no idea about the extent of the armed security there though! I guess if I'd thought about it...

Whatever TV company it was missed out big time - you need a regular slot somewhere!

Thanks again everyone!
By the way, Avi (the diamond cutter guy) is the one who does all the re-cutting for us.
I've known him for over 15 years, what a mensch!  He's also a great friend of Sam Spade's.

The jewelry factory is where many of our finest rings are made.
That was quite a gorgeous three stone emerald cut and trapezoid ring they were working on in one shot.

DH watched the video several times yet resolutely refused to notice that ring. If I didn't know better, I'd say he just wasn't trying!

Great segment David!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley I just cannot believe that they did not use it.  I agree with everyone- I think it is really good advertisement for you.  You really come across as so knowledgeable, and prospective buyers will feel much more comfortable buying from you once they see this.  Great job!

Well, this weekend I saw the show, on the travel Channel.
Of course, it was lacking our segment.  The host, Ian Grant, is such a nice guy.  This comes across in the show.

The title of the show, is "The Deal Hunter"......
I believe the reason our segment was excluded had to do with the fact that he didn't buying diamonds from us.
In the segments that didn't air, he always bought something.  In one segment he bought a dresser at Christie's, and another segment he bought some street art.

All in all it was still a very fun experience.

I say, invite him back and offer him a "deal" that he can't refuse!  Evil  That's the beauty about DBL. There is something suitable, and lovely, for every pocketbook.

Well, it was someone's loss.  I can just see the producer's wife..."SO you could have bought me a yellow diamond but instead got this painting of a clown off the street...thanks!"

Thanks T,
I can see it all in my head though.

Wife   "Let me get this straight, you could have bought me a yellow diamond but instead got this painting of a skull in a field?"

Producer "Honey, this is ART!  You don't understand the rawness of the skull in a field and they said this guy will be famous in like ten years!"

Wife "You need to stop while you are ahead.  Now go beg that man in NY to do another segment and this time come back with my YELLOW DIAMOND or you will understand rawness!"

David I must tell you I never tire of watching this.  I am looking forward to the time when I can walk down 47th street, and it is good to know about all those plain clothes security patrolling.
I just canīt understand how they didnīt use this, I am sure when that chapīs wife sees what he missed you may be hearing from him/her.....

I just saw the clip.  It was great I had to take my lap top into  town where I could get a good enough connection to watch without interuption.  What is the name of the book Awestruck read about 47th street.  The more I read and learn the more I need.

Very very interesting book and well worth a read.

Amazing!

We just had a new client call....
"How did you find us?" I asked

"I saw a piece about you on the Travel Channel"

Apparently the piece, or part of it, is currently being broadcast on the Travel Channel
