HI Everyone!

I'm hesitant to speak on videos because I get startled by Youtubes that have sound "unexpectedly"
That is to say- sometimes, you're expecting music, or words.....

Anyway, what do you guys think?

PS- it's a gorgeous cushion and ring in the youtube as well....

NICE!  I like it!!!  And I like the ring, too :-).  I love that it's in platinum.

And, coincidentally, I pulled out a different Bach Allemande this afternoon, one from the second partita for solo violin.  I could play it well about 15 years ago, but now?  Well, let's give it a few months :-).

What's this one from?

I like something extra that the music gives.  Maybe if you just tell us that a particular video has sound when you post it?  That way, people who are watching in "quiet" places can turn the sound down.

Tell Marc that his guitar sounds great!

I like it and the guitar is just beautiful.  I like the ones where you speak too.  Is there a way to put a warning sign up before it starts?

LOL on the bit about a warning for those at work! Shouldn't you all be working and not surfing?  Grin

GREAT playing Marc!!!

Hey, folks-
Thanks for the kind words about the guitar accompanyment.
David's been asking me for some time to provide him with some tracks - I finally got around to it.

The Allemande is from the 1st Lute Suite in e minor.  It is the same suite that has the famous(?) Bourree.  Well, I think it's famous.

Thanks again.
Now, somebody buy the ring, and I'll give him another track.

I wish I could buy this one!  I looked for you outside the METwhen I was there a couple of weeks ago - is that only a summertime gig??  I did mention you to my family in NYC, so next time you play there, don't be alarmed if a dozen or so mad looking celtic types turn up - they're friendly!

I typically don't like sound on videos when you go to the site and they play automatically.

However, I'm okay with it when I click the button which is what happens with You Tube videos. The visitor makes a choice to see it.

The music is nice and understated enough. (Way to go Marc.) I wouldn't like boom boom music to blast me in the face. But the complement is nice.

Hi Jen-
Yeah, it's a summertime gig.
And, this summer, I played less than I had in the past.  Sort of had an off-year.
Be back in the spring tho.
Nice that you looked for me - sorry I wasn't around.  Was probably on a golf course.

Golf! My entire staff have gone on a golf tournament today. What's that all about? Can anyone explain the lure of golf to me?? Actually, if you like golf, you should visit here. We're handy for St Andrews.

I can see why you'd play guitar in the summer though - hard to do that with frozen fingers and it's getting really cold now!

I guess you either get golf or you don't, like most other things.
Unlike the majority of those in our society, I don't get sports in general.
I get bored watching people do stuff on TV.
With golf, I'm doing it myself - in beautiful surroundings, with (sometimes) fun companions, playing an intriguing and difficult game.  And then there are the moments when I hit a first class shot - really nail one - and it's a great feeling to have - so I go back again and again.  The sights, smells, textures, sounds, and feel of it all are awesome.  It's total immersion.
Does that explain it - sort of?

Well it's more convincing than the explanations I got from my office mates today. They focused much more on the pub at the end and a little less on the beauty , sensory pleasure and companionship.

Mind you, they had to use our municipal golf course, which is just between the gas works and the landfill site.

Do come to Scotland- some of the most beautiful golf courses here, all along the East coast (most of them are lovely, the one in the town where I work is an exception!).

Just saw this, I'm sooo behind.  I love the guitar with the video.  The ring is just awesome, and the music helps, sort of like in a store, you know, the music "sells", or makes you want to buy.  Does that make sense?

What a great idea.  I very much like the musical accompaniment - way to go, big bro!
